What do you think? Would it be possible for Billy to re-join FM again at the current time, if he wanted to?

Not now. I think he's too country for Mick's tastes. However, David was asking about when Billy rejoined the band in 1993/1994, for the whole "Time" thing. Billy had left in February/March 1993 to go solo again, which obviously didn't take (a surprise, as "Coming Home" was a very good album).

Nope. As long as Lindsey's in, Billy's out.

I think it's more like as long as they weren't in Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac or on the "Rumours" album, they're out.

Yes, "Coming Home" is an excellent album, as are many of his others.

I don't think Billy could ever join the band again. The closest he could come would be as a member of the touring band. Between Mick's not-so-great leadership and Lindsey's sizeable ego it just wouldn't work out. Which is fine by me, I'd rather see Billy stay a solo act anyway.

On this same note, I'd like to know when exactly Mick and Lindsey started working on "Gift Of Screws." My hunch is that it was during the "Time" sessions, as Lindsey is credited on that album. I find it interesting that they never toured in support of "Time." That's definately not like Fleetwood Mac. The time-line also suggests that maybe the whole "Dance" reunion actually started around the "Time" sessions. Consider that the "Time" band dispands in February, 1996, that Mick, John, Christine, and Stevie were all seen together at the Kentucky Derby on May 3, 1996 (Lindsey was supposed to be there, but decided to work on GOS), and that the movie "Twister" was released a week later. I think the record company got wind that the folks from the "Rumours" band were working together and just decided to kill the "Time" album, figuring a Mac equivalent to "Hell Freezes Over" was on the near horizon.
