There is no full clip. Just a mini snippet. Sadly.

There's a full clip "out there"...

...but due to WB encoding on the track, the people who have it would be in some serious sh*t (can you say "job security"? It could be traced directly back to them) if it were to start circulating. I FULLY understand that. But, I've been dying to hear the full track, too. That 10 second clip is a MAJOR tease.

I'm wondering if there isn't a way to get around that.
I mean, isn't there almost always a way to get around those kinds of things? *lol*

Perhaps converting it from .mp3 to .wma, .rm or .wav, burning it to disc, and then ripping it back again?

I thought this was just a case of a couple of people having it & not wanting to share it.

At least they shared the fact that they have it! I mean, cause that's always a satisfying thing for others to hear!

Cool L.B.'s Joni Mitchell Tune!!!

Was the LB tune ever released on a record
by Joni? Yellow Taxi or some such tune!!!
What is harm in sending it as a demo if it is
never officially copyrighted? That is the only
music we have-unpublished tunes of old!Sky

It was/is Lindsey's cover of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi", probably her most famous song (you know, the one with the line..."they paved paradise and put up a parking lot"). It was supposed to be included in a Joni Mitchell tribute album that has never been released and probably never WILL be.

*drools*
I love Joni Mitchell's songs, would've been great to hear
any idea which other artists contributed to that tribute?

I don't recall who else was involved.

WARNING, rant ahead!: ( )

Ok, now who dropped the ball? There was Fleetwood Mac in the midst of working on a new album, Lindsey ALREADY had a version (and from hearing the clip, a KICK ASS version) ready to go of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi", then who comes along & records the song, releases it to some heavy airplay (albeit for just a short time)? COUNTING CROWS!!! (whose FULL-LENGTH version just pales in comparison to the 30 second clip of Lindsey's)

What'd they do instead? Rehash a bunch of old FMac hits again. What better marketing could they have done? Release Lindsey's "Big Yellow Taxi" as a single AND as a "new" track on the VBoFM.

{sigh}

Stick it to the man! Share!

THAT would have been a very very very smart move. And i agree: That clip is better than the CC-version. ( to be honest: that clip is better then CC's whole last album. I have it here somewhere, isn't it someting with candy in the title... )

Chaka Khan was also on the aborted Joni Mitchell tribute album. She did "Hejira."

Also, Sarah MacLachlan, Natalie Merchant, k.d. lang, Elvis Costello ("Edith and the Kingpin"), Bjork ("The Boho Dance") and a few others I can't recall.

Oh lord.

Reminds me of the big solo Peacekeeper war from last year.

Bless their hearts they just cannot get it right. I mean LB's cover of Dylans' "Love Minus Zero/No Limit" is great. Yet, it is on disc two of the limited release SYW enhanced version.

Also, Silver Springs left off of Rumors.

I just sometimes think they are just stoned all of the time and these decisions are the result

I have yet to hear the 10 second clip. Anyone want to help me out here so I can join the gang in being pissed that it hasn't and will most likely never be released?

I'm in love with his Bob Dylan cover...it's truly amazing and so beautifully done...then again, Lindsey doesn't do anything half-assed so i'm sure this is just as amazing
