Default Front Row Tickets?

I'm sure someone has asked this / gone through it before, but what is everyone's strategy to get the best tickets? I would loooooooove to be able to go to my first Stevie Nicks concert (gasp!) and sit in the front row and see the goddess in all her glory.

So Ledgies, what are your tips and tricks?

Unfortunately StubHub or another ticket agency is the only realistic method (or luck)

That's disappointing but I will do my best to try and get there right at noon when they go and sale and hope for the best, I guess. Thanks!

Lots of people say to wait until the week of the show. The first time I saw Stevie was last August in The Woodlands and I bought my tickets way ahead of time, however I decided that I would see if I could score front row seats to the show in Dallas and see her twice! However, it didn't happen. This time around I went on the website right when the sale opened the first two sets of tickets they offered me were crap, but they third time I tried I scored second row! So I don't know really when the best time to buy them is, but I do know that if ticket master gives you crappy seats when you chose "best available" always try again. "Best available" does not mean closest to the stage in Ticketmaster's eyes. Ticketmaster sees the "best available" seats as the ones with the highest price. So 1st row and 15th row probably cost the same, ergo they are both "best available" in Ticketmaster's eyes.

1. get tickets as close to the stage as possible (just in case they don't allow people to stand.)
2. upon your arrival at the venue, find a security guard and ask them if they're allowing people to stand.
3. if so, plan accordingly. stand around the front of the venue until the show starts, and snake your way up to the stage.

most importantly--"destination unknown" by missing persons is always played immediately before stevie takes the stage. knowing this will help you determine when to get up to the front.

good luck!

Speaking of front-row, I had a question about the stage rush during Edge of Seventeen. I've never done it and want to try this tour. Does Stevie inform the venue ahead of time to allow this? Is it generally only reserved for front-row people? How about if you are in the first few rows - can you climb over the rows in front of you to get closer or is that a no-no?

I've been in the front row (and not paid more than face value) probably 10 times now. PERSISTENCE! That's the key.
It takes time, dedication and luck. And I can be stubborn as a mule when I want something. So, I would check every day, multiple times a day. Once or twice, I got front row (side) immediately. But, that's really rare. Usually, especially for Stevie solo or FM stadium tours, it's been about a week or a few days before the concert. Suddenly, for like a period of five minutes or so...front row appears.
Good luck! (and, the others are right...anything really, in the first 7 rows can get you up front eventually) at most venues.

Those of us who are old hands at this should be aware of Ticketmaster's recent changes. With their new "pick your seat on a map" function, I've noticed better seats coming up on the first day - not always first row, but typically second or third if you're on the ball. However, I haven't yet been able to test out the "week of" theory yet and see if it still holds true.

Types of venues also make a difference, as well as the number of/quality of presales.

I agree with the sentiment "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!" That's what I do.

Good luck!

best bet is as closer it gets to the show on ticketmaster just keep checking you never know when they will be popping up these awesome seats if they are available or go on ebay or the ticket scalping sites.

I ended up getting 5th row center tickets today online on Ticketmaster.

This is my first concert so I wanted to get the best seats I could without taking any chances, so I'd say it went fairly well.

I called the box office and they were pretty unhelpful so I e-mailed them, hoping that they would be a little more knowledgable.

Thanks for all the advice. Even if front row doesn't work out, I'M STILL GOING TO SEE STEVIE WOOOOO!!!!!

Oftentimes, a few rows back in the center, is better than front row on the side- depending on the venue. Some venues, the side sections are pretty set back and far off from the stage.

The PNC Arts Centre in Holmdel NJ is nice .The stage wraps the sides with walks on both sides..Stevie used them last year.
