A song with that kind of power is just too dangerous.
really? is that true? where did you hear it out of interest? i want to hear this song!!!

BTW (since I 'm listening to it right now), what would you call "You make loving fun" musically? Why do I always think of "funky" when I hear that song?
I would call it just a straightforward pop funk number. You're right about the funky; it definitely finds a groove, thanks to a bunch of factors, like Christine's lead vocal, the Fender Rhodes, the drums, the bass & probably most of all to the king of keyboard funk, the Hohner Clavinet D6. You stick some wah-wah on that sucka or run it through a phaser, & you have hot classic funk.

Do you mean is the drum called anything special or the style of playing called anything special?

The style of playing is probably best called MICK -- derived from a more traditional martial (or military) roll.

Thanks, David. That's another sound that should be in more songs. It makes me happy when skies are grey.

You dufus. Yeah, Mick uses that roll (which he does really well, incidentally, like a shuffle) in live versions of Second Hand News, Monday Morning, Love in Store (at the tag), & on the tag of the studio Big Love.

Yes, but why does that make me a dufus? I'm not getting the connection there.

If you don't know, how can I explain? It's just funny and cool and stupid and nutritious. All the things I love in one superhero graphic.
All salads are super!

I actually have a friend who got this off one of the secret master reels. It's just a snippet of the piano part! Here you go:

Brilliant!

That is absolutely hilarious, and exactly as I was imagining it in my head.

Lis, send this along to John. Tell him that on the next Mac tour, they should end every show with this. Tuggle on the keys, of course. Stevie on vocals and dance steps.

That's great.

Although, screw having Stevie on vocals. I say just leave it as an instrumental! Maybe have Brett go out before the band starts playing to see if anybody picks up on what he's playing.
