I have to admit that I have a soft spot in my heart for Winds of Change-era Jefferson Starship. Those were amazing, catchy tunes with crunchy 80's production and Mickey Thomas wailing his assets off. My favorites are "Stranger" and "Find Your Way Back." It was all downhill once they "Built this City."

Jefferson Starship...great until after the Red Octopus album & Marty Balin left...Mickey Thomas??? Uh, no.

Starship...you've GOTTA be kidding me? {belch!} I think I threw up a little in the back of my throat.

I LOOOOOVEEEEEEE Grace and the Airplane, and the Marty Balin era of Jefferson Starship (though I do have a soft spot for 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' from the later 80's )!

'Baron Von Tollbooth and The Chrome Nun' (Grace with Paul Kantner and David Freiberg) is excellent, along with the 'Sunfighter' album.

On the latter, Grace does an incredible song and vocal on a track called 'Silver Spoons' (about cannabalism of all things - ).

Hehe, the "oh wait" was because I was interrupting JAirplane appreciation with JStarship.

I LOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE Jefferson Airplane! One of my favorite bands of all times. I wish I could have seen them live. I'm too young for that to have been possible, but I have seen Jorma Kaukonen solo in a tiny venue in Asheville, NC . I got to meet him, and he signed my vinyl copy of Volunteers. He was just super nice to meet, very down to Earth.

Well, not so much of his Jefferson Starship days. But, I will admit that he was a pretty good pick to replace Marty Balin.

I was more a fan of his when he was in the Elvin Bishop Band. "Fooled Around & Fell In Love" is a great track.
