Default Jakob Dylan's new album!

I have to say, being an (obvious) great fan of his music...this album is just SO amazingly good that I can't really find words to describe it. I'm in love with it and definitely feel it's like the best stuff he's ever done. So even if you could care less about JD or his past music I highly recommend it. I realize most people will put him in the pen with his father, and that isn't entirely fair nor has it always thrilled him. But on this particular record I personally hear a more cohesive correlation between these two men- and he's even said it himself. Anyway, Neko Case sings on it and T-Bone Burnett () produced it and, well, listen to the album for yourselves:

I liked his last solo album. I'll have to check it out. Are the Wallflowers done, or are they on a break?

According to him they are still together but aren't really inspired to do anything at the moment.

I found this new interview and I snapped a pic of Jakob on it. Check out his shirt everybody (who cares)!

He's obviously gearing up to be Lindsey in the Fleetwood Mac movie!

Awesome. I'm going to a few and I'm extremely excited. Any time I see him it takes me back to 1996. Can't help it. But this new music is his best IMO.

It has taken me a while to warm up to the new stuff. This is my second time seeing him though, and I am excited.

Wonderful! I hope you have an awesome time at his show. It's a very different sound for him, this album, but it's an incredible one. Maybe I'm just a huge T-Bone production fan but I adore the atmosphere of this record with Neko and Kelly's voices accompanying Jake's. Honestly, I recommend people who don't even care about JD to give it a listen. I have had a few people listen and they liked it a lot.

I got to see him Tue night during SXSW week, at the Pure Volume House: free party + free booze flowing = a lot of people yacking and not paying attention. But my friends and I were really trying to listen and see the band, it was packed...Neko and Kelly were there too, I dig the new stuff.

The new stuff is unbelievable live. Saw them last night and it was an amazing show. I've seen him live before obviously, and this was one of the best shows. He traded vocals with Neko on Smile When You Call Me That and there were new arrangements of Seeing Things tunes and the band was just tight and brilliant. I loved it.

Met him after the show. Such a sweet guy.

I just ordered it from Amazon. I liked the samples I heard, although I can understand why people are complaining about too much bass on the tracks.

Yeah, it's a bit heavier on the bass but that doesn't bother me...it reminds me a lot of the sound of Raising Sand, which I have adored since it came out. I just think a song like We Don't Live Here Anymore sounds so non-Jakob that I love it because of that. It's such a new sound for him. And he's really a great songwriter. I've always felt he was, but he's the son of a man who is at the top of most lists so I think it's hard to recognize him in his own separate light.
