Arrow Rate Out of the Cradle...

HEHE..yep, back again...rate from most to least fave...P.S. I'm not counting the instrumentals because...well, just because! LOL

1. Soul Drifter (My "funeral" song, it's just BREATHTAKING!)
2. Surrender the Rain (GORGEOUS SONG!!)
3. Doing What I Can (Love this "Big Love" sounding song, especially the solo at the end!!)
4. Countdown (LOVE the guitar at the beginning AND that video is SO GREAT!!)
5. Don't Look Down (I love when he sings this live and does that scream...OW! )
6. Street of Dreams (When he does this live, I get goose bumps!)
7. Wrong (Mister Rock-BLEEP! LMAO!! )
8. This is the Time (Great guitar!!!)
9. Say We'll Meet Again (I love the melody of this)
10. You Do or You Don't (now you slip, now you slide...that is so funny to me! LOL)
11. All My Sorrows
12. Turn It On

I can not begin to tell you how EXCRUTIATINGLY difficult this is. To rank OOTC is like pulling my own teeth. The first 6 or 7 songs are all in the running for #1. and i can honestly say I've had to think about this for 20 minutes, but i think I've finally got the perfect list as of now. And Don't look Down is a bit down on the list because of the exclusion of it's introduction. It really adds to the ambiounce of the song. I's still good but it needs that intro. So HERE go's nothin.

1. This is the time (TIIIIIME, this is the time. This song does SOO much for me. It's spiritual. It should be played by Choirs at Church.)
2. Countdown (GREATNESS)
3. Doing What I Can (puts Big Love TO SHAME. I get into this one SOOO much)
4. Wrong (the guitar on this is ummm... magical
5. Surrender the Rain (OOOOOOOH you foolish pretender)
6. Soul Drifter ( YOU SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, It's a NEEEEEEEEW Dawn so it's SOOOOOOOOOO long)
7. Don't look Down (just a great pop song)
8. All My Sorrows
9.Turn it On (does anyone else detect the most pecular accent. Sort of new yorkish. You CULD reach FUR THE SKI')
10. Street of Dreams (CHILLING song. But is is a bit TOO slow. I mean it's hard to sing along when lindsey is singing like a turtle. Still agreat song. I like it best in the middle when it picks up.)
11. Say We'll meet Again
12. You Do or You Don't (always been at the bottom of the barrle for me. If someone held a gun to my head and said i had to remove one song this would be it, I still like it though.)

Now if This Nearly was mine was included it would be before All my Sorrows. and if the introductions were included This is the Time would be even FURTHER at #1 and Don't Look down would climb to number 6 pushing SD to #7.

OK, let's have a go at this. I love this whole album!

1 - Countdown... just gorgeous, and I love the video.
2 - This Is The Time... just rocks; even my metalhead friends like it.
3 - Soul Drifter... the only word to describe this is lush! LOL!
4 - You Do Or You Don't... it gets in my head!
5 - Don't Look Down... love the way he kinda growls the chorus.
6 - Wrong... hehehe.
7 - Street Of Dreams... eerie; sends shivers down my spine.
8 - Surrender The Rain... gorgeous.
9 - Turn It On... revives my attitude problem.
10 - Doing What I Can... makes me want to dance like a maniac.
11 - Say We'll Meet Again... sometimes annoys me if I'm in a bad mood.
12 - All My Sorrows... ditto the above.

One of the VERY few albums I think is perfectly tracked...I can't reprogram the running order of this album and still like it as much as the way it is.

1) Intro to...Don't Look Down (am I the only one who can't separate the intros from the songs themselves? Should've just been one complete track).
2) Wrong
3) Countdown
4) You Do Or You Don't
5) Say We'll Meet Again
6) All My Sorrows
7) This Nearly Was Mine
8) Soul Drifter
9) Surrender The Rain
10) This is The Time
11) Doing What I Can
12) Turn It On

The only song I DO skip fairly often, however is "Street Of Dreams"...and only after I heard it live...usually, hearing a song live makes me appreciate it more, but in this case, I prefer the studio version, but it keeps reminding me of how much I DIDN'T like the live version...just ruined it for me.

Question Awn...LOL

Hawkeye! I totally agree about his wierd accent on Turn It On, when I FIRST heard the song, I laughed at the way he says "awn". It's such a trip!

My best friend Sarah (who sometimes posts on here) hates that! LOL! It really makes her mad! She thinks it's the result of spending too much time with British people.

Default I LOVE OOTC!

Lindsey's best album, one that got me to buy the other two, although I didn't like them as much! Order of adoration:

1) Soul Drifter (Beautiful, Uplifting, and the Radio Remix has a great beat added. This is second only to Holiday Road in favorite Lindsey solo songs!)

2) Countdown (Awesome song. The guitar solo rocks!)

3) Surrender the Rain (Love the melody, and those homonyms at the end - SO clever!)

4) Don't Look Down (I love how the chorus is all stacatto urgency while the verses are all smooth. Sounds cool)

5) You Do Or You Don't (This one has instant appeal, great melody and lyrics)

6) Street of Dreams (drags, but I love the "Shadow on Daddy's Stone" bridge)

7) All My Sorrows (pretty, but a little too repetitive)

8) Wrong (I don't like the melody as much, and his voice sounds a little weird in some parts)

9) Say We'll Meet Again (drags a bit)

10) This is the Time (I don't appreciate the funky voice stuff, although I do find the lyrics clever)

11) Turn It On (The weird accent bothers me)

A couple of these rankings can change depending on my mood, but when it comes down to it, when I listen to this CD I rarely FF anything. I love it!

Allmost everything on this record is great. My favorites are Don't look down (with Intro), Wrong (though i'm not so keen on the ending), Countdown, Say we'll meet again, Turn it On, etc...
About the only thing that bothered me was Doing What I Can, an obvious reworking of Big Love and which sounds like a Tango in the Night leftover...

And lastly here goes for OOTC

1) Countdown
2) Soul Drifter
3) Wrong
4) This Is The Time
5) Turn It On
6) Street Of Dreams
7) Surrender The Rain
8) Don't Look Down
9) You Do Or You Don't
10) Doing What I Can
11) Say Well Meet Again
12) This Nearly Was Mine
13) All My Sorrows

As far as I am concerned, Lindsey's best work, as close to perfection as he can get (although GOS runs very close, and if ever gets released officially then it may surpase OOTC)

The five 6 tracks in my list are so close to being my favorite Lindsey tracks, awesome stuff indeed.

Default This is a Tough One

In fact, I'll just say that my favorite is Surrender the Rain, and list the songs that I DIDN'T like as much.

In no order:

You Do or You Don't (this is the only one that I don't like at all)
Doing What I Can
Turn it On
All My Sorrows (pretty, but meh)
