Default What's your favourite way to cook a potato

Potaotoes are great as they are so versatile. What's your favourite way?
I'd say mashed; lots of mashing, a bit of milk, a bit of cheese, butter, plenty of pepper. perfect.

Silly man, I'm a great cook.
Here my two main "recipes":

BAKED POTATOES
Clean, peel and cut potatoes in little cubes of 1,5 cm3. Throw them in boiling salted water for a few minutes. After the few minutes are passed dry with a clean kitchen rag or paper. Arrange them properly in a baking tin (they don't have to touch each other) and season them with a mix of EVO oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, sage and bay leaves you have previously minced. Bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes circa and salt when just taken out of the oven. Eat right away.

GRILLED POTATOES
Clean the potatoes (you need medium to big ones) and wrap each one completely in tinfoil with a clove of garlic and a sprig of rosemary. Bury in the embers of the barbecue (or fireplace or stove). If you don't have fire (what a loser) then you can put them in the oven at at least 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes or more. Control with a skewer when they're ready, they'll just oppose no resistance to the stick. Eat right away (or almost, I always burn my tongue).
If you want you can also stuff them, in this case you just have to cut them lenghtwise after cleaning them, dig inside with a spoon and mix the pulp with your choice, for example I use a flake of butter, a sprinkle of parmigiano and a bit of truffle. then put it back in and close the two halves together with the help of the tinfoil. Also a good cheese with ham is a nice choice.

thanks for the recipe ideas. I feel inspired to do something creative with a potato.

It is particularly amusing since in my mother language "potato" is an euphemism for female genitalia.

However you're welcome.

Female genitalia?
Oh, er... I'll never look at an Italian woman in the same light again

Don't worry, actually the other thread started by ViscountViktor was even more amusing since "bird" would be in fact an euphemism for male genitalia instead.
