i like your positive thinking there!

you know what was my biggest gripe with the mammoth FM tour coming in 2018-19? that by the time it ends, Christine will be in her late 70s and probably not up for another BuckVie album and tour. (and maybe that's a part of why Lindsey was crying at the end of the last BuckVie tour date?) right now she's still stuck with that FM tour. but maybe if ticket sales continue to be as dismal as they started, the legs announced so far will be it? that would be a welcome thing!

we do know that both Finn and Campbell have new albums ready to go and plans to tour those in 2019 in their separate careers.

so maybe there's some hope.

So I have heard Christine and Stevie solo songs. Is it true they are NOT playing Lindsey solo? If so, you know it was a verdict handed down by the band (probably stevie). That' really burns me up if that is true.

Well, I haven’t heard any Lindsey solo work despite his 33 years of service in this band yet I’ve heard Boys of Summer apparently since Mike Campbell, who has been in the band for two months, wrote the music for it. Oh, and of course Stevie banged Don Henley so there’s that too. But no Lindsey...can’t say for sure because I don’t listen 24/7 but I’ve heard solo stuff from everyone else.

Their (petty) reasoning is probably something along the lines of "Well, he's not technically an active member of the band, so no solo tracks from him".

And the reason they play "Boys of Summer" is because it was one of Christine's picks from her DJ hour. The Mike Campbell connection is coincidental.

The reason I brought up Boys of Summer was that I heard it on the station outside of the context of Christine's DJ Hour. I mentioned hearing this on another thread and was promptly advised by another poster that it was played because the band's current lead guitarist wrote it! In the context of being one of Chris's songs she loves, that makes sense.

I haven't heard any of his solo work and they clearly tossed all of his interviews from when this was supposed to go live Feb 1st into the incinerator. I would love to hear his commentary

No solo Lindsey, no BuckVie and no BuckNicks except the live version of Don't Let Me Down Again. I'm enjoying the channel but this aspect is really disappointing. This is the prime time to expose the audience to Lindsey's solo material. Every day I turn it on hoping to hear Countdown or Rock Away Blind. Something!!

It hurts my heart that his music isn't included. I think hearing Stevie, Chris and Lindsey solo stuff gives a more complete picture of the bands sound. This channel could bring in a whole new crop of LB fans--a classic win/win scenario--fans for him and great music for the listeners. Another wasted opportunity.

I haven't heard anything from the FM EP either. I think the musical influences are played as filler where Lindsey's songs would have been. Nothing against Jackson Browne or Cat Stevens but I don't need it.

I kind of understand why they're not playing Lindsey solo tunes, although I think they're wrong for not doing so. If they played solo Lindsey songs, some people would probably say something like "how dare they play Lindsey's songs after they fired him?!?" Or "they're trying to trick people into thinking Lindsey's still in the band!" So really, it might have been a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" kind of thing.

I definitely think they should be playing his solo work, along with work he produced. Didn't Lindsey produce Life in a Northern Town, a song by some band I can't remember the name of? Lindsey's produced a number of songs by other artists, and those should be played, too.

yes to all of this.

if people don't see how petty and vindictive this is from the band, they are willfully blind.

I'm hoping for another BuckVie record and tour too. If indeed the individual members of FM do indeed pursue their solo careers after the tour, then I think there could be a good chance Chris and Lindsey will reunite. I'd think that they'd choose not to go with the same rhythm section as on the first BuckVie record though. What may happen is that all the solo stuff would merge into FM actually recording an album and then touring to support it. Then I fear BuckVie II would be NICKSED!
