But I have to say that maybe it was the right choice to not drive the attention on her fashion outfit and concentrate on the serious topic instead... |

Stevie Nicks and Peyton Manning in the house!
Remember that Stevie is fitting this in between two shows. She gave a great interview. Once again I am so proud of her.

This is awesome. And stevie sounded so sincere and genuine telling the story of the boy with the closed eyes. I could feel how much she cared.
But did she really need to tell the condensed gypsy story on her day off

I'm Proud of Her
She could have worn a paper sack last night and I wouldn't have cared. I am so proud of her for her work with our soldiers. So to everyone who calls her shallow, self centered and out of touch, watch the interview from last night and go back and read her journal entries. This woman has a heart of gold. Yes, she is eccentric in many ways and yes, her day to day life is way different than most of ours, but she does genuinely care about others. I'll take this type of recognition for her vs. a new Fleetwood Mac OR solo album, any time! This truly shows who she is and what she is made of! Congratulations Stevie!

thanks for those who posted the videos. I wonder if we'll ever get video of her actually accepting the award? And as far as what she wears to any kind of event, if it is the same thing over and over again, I could care less. Clearly she's comfortable in it. Whatever.

Elizabeth Jia, WUSA 9 5:15 p.m. EDT March 25, 2015 Nearly 30 Medal of Honor recipients get recognized for their valor in wars spanning World War II, Vietnam, Korea and Afghanistan. Stevie Nicks and Peyton Manning were also honored, 3.24.15. ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) --- USO-Metro held a star-studded awards gala celebrating active duty military and veterans having served wars spanning World World Two, Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac and Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos were also honored, 3.24.15. Manning has flown overseas to visit our troops in the Middle East. "I play a sport. These fourth and inches for our military could mean life or death. So I definitely have the sport that I play in perspective," said the star quarterback. On the day of the USO-Metro gala, Manning visited Walter Reed Army Medical Center. "Some of the folks that I'd met there battling serious injuries, long, long term injuries, long-term rehabilitation. But just their attitude and their faith, is very inspiring," Manning said. Stevie Nicks has spent countless hours over five years visiting veterans at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda National Naval Medical Center. She said she developed close relationships with the recovering veterans and their families. "Well you take a lot of secrets, because they tell you a lot of things, it's like you know things that... that you can never tell. And that's... heavy. And you take their heart with you, you take their soul with you," Nicks tells WUSA9. USO-Metro also honored Sebastian Junger, war correspondent and author, and Seema Reza, poet and essayist. Both have produced works supporting troops and their families. Written and Produced by: Elizabeth Jia WUSA 9 |
