Since too many people were thrown out of this place, even Danax6, one of the most truthfull Macfans on the net, I just want to say to you all: Thank You. But this place has become too "Bush-y" for a leftwing European. The American inconsequent reading of rules has gone too far for me. All people that I love over here: I think my time has come to say: Now I say Goodbye to you. There are more "free" places on the net that deserve my energy.

I'm sorry to hear that so many people are being banned, for whatever reason. I see many people are leaving as well and heading to the new Fleetwood Mac forum. I enjoy the Ledge, and have a fondness for it...especially because I have been here for so long like many others. I hope whatever it is that is going on can be resolved and we can get more folks back here.

Six people were suspended for 7 days for ongoing attack posts against another Ledgie. That 7 day period expired on April 24.

During the suspension, one gentleman used a second user id to stir up further conflict. He is the only person who was permanently banned in recent months, due to his deceptive use of the alias id. No one else is banned. Their absence is quite voluntary.

Have these "attack" posts been removed ? I have tried to find them so i could judge for myself but was unable to trace them. As Gerald already pointed out; Vanessa is a very honest and true fan and i find it hard to believe she would maliciously attack another fan.

since these aren't really concerns over the "set up" of the board, Chit Chat is actually the appropriate forum.

got PM or signature problems, etc., that would go there. it's more of an IT-type forum.

I guess it all depends on interpretation of "set up"- I mean, it would make sense to have discussions regarding membership/moderation of the boards in a forum dedicated to the boards themselves, rather than dragging it in here.

But, maybe that's just me.

I've been keeping quiet through this mostly because I am new at moderating and don't want to come off sounding like I believe I am an authority on anything. However, I do want to say that I wish that *no one* would leave. I will miss the folks that I genuinely thought of as friends here in cyberspace. Some of you have access to my private journal and there is a reason for that. All that being said, if The Ledge does not bring happiness to someone, he or she should have the right to move on.

I have been really busy trying to finish up graduate school (graduating in 15 days!) so I haven't had time to speak on these issues like I would have liked. I believe that the overall reasoning behind the suspensions was a feeling of a bullying attitude. Please bear in mind that every single rule break is not always picked up on by moderators. Most of the time, I receive a PM with a complaint before I've had the chance to see it in the thread itself. What I do is then copy the complaint and discuss it with the other moderators. I don't know ANY of the back stories or histories between different Ledgies. I've never been adept at figuring out who likes or dislikes who. I suppose that's due in part to the fact that before I became a moderator, I steered clear from "argument" threads.

No one moderator makes the decision to suspend or ban (I definitely would not feel comfortable with that "power" considering how long I've been here). I'd like to think that I try to be fair. I do admit not being quite as on top of things as I should, but I don't have as much time to read all the threads as I usually do, and for that, I apologize.

I'll end this by saying that I'm sorry to those who feel that they have not been treated fairly. The Ledge should be a place for Stevie and FM freaks (like me!

) to be able to get together and talk about the band and have interesting and thought provoking discussions.

the past 2 weeks or so i have been too busy to regularly visit here so i'm totally out of it. Today, being a slow day at work, i have been trying to "catch up" and this is what i find out ! My "noorderburen" have both left The Ledge

Please come back Vanessa and Gerald , if only to counter balance opinions with a continental european view ...
