how the time has flown
every day now
i'm finally home
because i waited for a woman who was true
i waited for a woman - it was you

we would be too late

a future i couldn't see
the past is gone, william's here

lover we'll watch him grow every day now
i can hear the sound every day now
love is all around

past is gone, stella's here
that's so lovely - without being over the top cheesy. i do love the sentiment of "past is gone... william (leelee, stella)'s here." it's the acknowledgement of his past, his obvious past with stevie, but such a strong message to kristen. i haven't heard the actual song yet, but i will... thanks for posting the lyrics.

Yeah, I bet Kristen told him he HAD to write a clear song about her, because she was tired of everyone thinking he was still writing about Stevie.

I wonder what Stevie thinks/would think of this song?? (or who cares, right?)

I just want to say that I find it extremely ODD that Lindsey has to "say goodbye" yet AGAIN.......this makes what? 2, 3 times?......Methinks he doth protest too much

nail in the shipper coffin? Time will tell.....

I've been listening to the CD almost every day since I got it, and I must say this song is one of my favorites. It's a beautiful to his wife & family, IMO.

Yes, it's one of my faves on there.

I think it is way too sappy for me and the lyrics are trite.

I also think he wrote it when K told him to stop lusting after Stevie and also banging skanks on the road during the SYW tour.

Lord Child I am contrary today

While I think Stevie and Lindsey have a lot of chemistry ( personal and musical) I think they have way too many issues to ever live in the same house together. I think Stevie is happy that Lindsey has kids and someone that loves him ( or his money ) and she likes how that has changed his personality. If you saw the Gold Dust Tour it was obvious Stevie was'nt thinking about Lindsey, she had the look of a satisfied woman

Well, I'm contrary too then, because I think this song is the one that reviewer was refering too when he said some of the lyrics on the album rivaled bad high school poetry. Yes, trite and sappy is the perfect description.

Having said that, there is something catchy to it and it's not horrible live. I still think it's awful, but sometimes I can't get it out of my head.

It's over in a sexual sense between them. Hell, they probably havent knocked boots since the 1980s. I don't think their relationship will ever end though.

you can make babies with anyone. But CHEMISTRY? that only comes along "once in a million years". And even tho Lindsey has proclaimed (yet AGAIN) that he's Never Going Back Again, Saying Goodbye, Cast[ing] away Dreams ETC...I happen to believe that COME said it best: "said I put God away but I just can't let her go....." so, I dont think the solution to the Stevie/Lindsey equation is necessarily sex, but rather that SOUL connection that he sure as hell doesnt have with anyone else....and all the proclamations to the contrary are just sour grapes. (lets face it folks, you dont have to keep saying goodbye to something you dont give a **** about...)
