Best-mastered versions?

With the multiple Mac album reissues in recent years and all the "best ofs," has anyone put together a list of the best-sounding versions of specific tracks? For example, does "Dreams" sound best on the 2013 Rumours reissue, the 2004 Rumours reissue, on the Very Best Of two-disc set or the Chain box set from the 1990s? Or, where is the best-sounding CD version of "Love in Store"?

Would this kind of project be useful to Mac fans, or not so useful? If people are interested, I'd be happy to start a series of polls on this forum to vote on the best versions of selected tracks, and then I could organize the results into a document that might be helpful to newbies.

Good idea or not? Would these polls be welcome? There would need to be a lot of them -- especially since so many of the Chain box set tracks are "alternates," some better than the album versions and some worse. An overarching album-by-album poll wouldn't work.

It sounds like an interesting idea to me... I don't like the sound quality of the 2004 CDs at all.

Well, I don't know, really. Only one thing: there is no best sounding Love In Store on CD. Only crap Sounding Love In Stores. On vinyl, however.... Mirage has never sounded better than on Vinyl....

At least it's louder on the Chain box.

What about the version of Love In Store on The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac? Also, the Tango In The Night tracks on this compilation sound far better than on the album CD.

As far as Rumours is concerned, I much prefer the 2013 reissue over the 2004 reissue. I think it has a lot more punch and depth to it. But it probably sounds best on the SACD with the 5.1 mix - which is no original mix, of course.
