Default Stevie's Microphone is too crazy!

Lately there is way too much stuff on Stevie's mic! Flowers, ribbons, chiffon, beads, streamers!!!!

It is getting almost silly! Now, I love Stevie more then any other singer in the world, but this new trend has got to go! I love how her mic is in the dance video with just one or two black and white things hanging off it.

Now it is just distracting!

I wouldn't call it a new trend.... maybe in the past few years I guess, I know her TISL mics were covered with ribbons, as well as during the Enchanted tour. I personally have no problem with it. We all know Stevie is a very spiritual person and perhaps she is superstitious about going on stage without all that stuff on her mic. It also gives her something to do with her hands when she's not banging the tambourine (I remember reading that she started playing the tambo when she was in Fritz so she'd have something to do with her hands on stage.) I don't find it distracting at all-- it's just one of the many endearing things that make her Stevie.

Well I love that quality about Stevie, but some of the things she is putting on her mic lately seem sort of tacky and cheap. It is too much of a good thing, if you ask me.

I love how Stevie's mic looks! Very individual and totally her! I don't think any of it looks tacky!

So here it is in all it's glory (with the lady herself), and I think the mic is fabulous!

Pip's right it's totally Stevie.
Great picture Sharon! Which night was that from? Did we see all your pictures?

Well that mic is very nice and not too crazy, but I swear I have been seeing pictures lately where her mic looks like a circus!

It has looked the same at all the UK gigs I've been to!

That's from the November 30 again. I was too far from the stage on the 29th to take a pictures unfortunately.

I posted about nine of them in this thread:

http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showth...threadid=12414

The thing is I have about a hundred pictures in all and so many turned out great. I dunno what to do with them all really!
Would love a copy if you could get them to me somehow Sharon!

It's not a new trend, she's been doing it since the OSOTM tour. Those mics would've given you a heart attack if you don't care for the current ones.

In the Mirage Tour Video, weren;t there flowers running up and down Stevie and CM's mic.'s ? I seem to remember this, but that was a long time ago.

There's a Tusk era tour picture where she's got a bout a dozen roses taped to her mic. Actually, I think it helps her find the mic when she first comes on stage. Remember when she started singing into the wrong mic at AHI? Even with the lasik, I don't think she sees so well.

I like her microphone with all the attachments. Steven Tyler does it also.

Speaking of the mic stand, has anyone noticed Stevie pulling it backward and leaning forward like she used to do when she was going into a high energy/belting part? I don't think she did it once at Pittsburgh, but I can't remember. To help explain (for those who have these videos), think of Stevie on the Mirage video during Gypsy when she walks back to sing "I have no fear..." or on the Tango video when she sings the "OW OW OW EVERYBODY, everybody's got me down" on World Turning. Those are the only two examples I can think of right now.

I actually really like Stevie's mic stand. I think it suit her and isn't tacky at all...I stared and stared at it in fact when I was in the front row in El Paso...like before the show started...it was so exciting...haha..so I'm a big fan of the mic stand...
