WHAT?? Why would they loose rights to their music?

No...Fleetwood Mac would regain the rights to the original recordings...

Even if the band should happen to change labels, Warner Bros will still retain rights to the albums Fleetwood Mac released with them.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...issue-20110907 If there is as chance WB will forfeit ownership of FM's catalog starting with Tusk (albums before 1978 are excluded.. Can you imagine WB loosing Rumors) will WB spend the money re mastering albums if they have to give ownership back to FM after 35 years? |

If there's any chance WB might lose 'Mirage' in three years and 'Tango' in eight, that seems like all the more reason they should try to make as much money on them while they can. Come on, Warner Bros.... |

What are the options? Artists have several things they can do. They can re-up with the label and use this as leverage to renegotiate a recording agreement. They can invoke termination rights and take back their master recordings and see what they can do themselves. If they get it back, they can shop it around and see if anybody else wants it – another label or an indie label or they might market it themselves on the Internet. Or artists can go back and re-record everything I hardly think FM's organizational skills (or lack of) lend themselves to the band doing the internet self-marketing thing. But I can certainly imagine them leveraging ownership of the tapes to get a recording deal (i.e. allowing Warner's to keep ownership longer if they give the band a recording deal… but I don't trust Warner's to do it right that is, I could easily see WB negotiating to keep ownership of the masters, giving the band a deal, and then not really promoting the new music.) I'd rather see the band shop ownership around and get a new deal on a new label. |

First song from New Album completed? NBC.com
Carson Daly www.nbc.com/last-call-with-carson-daly
from last night's show Carson is reporting that the first song for the new Fleetwood Mac album is completed. Mentioned only, not played over end credits. You have to go to the website to see the lyrics. I copied them before they were taken down. It's new to me. At least I've never heard her sing it before. Walking In The Shadows I know you're a lonely man and I love you Someone else is waiting and she owns you If she should ever wake up, be sure your story is straight love If you talk in your sleep don't mention my name If you walk in your sleep, forget where you came Walking every night here in the shadows So afraid that sometimes you may follow There's always a chance she'll find us So I don't need to remind you... If you talk in your sleep don't mention my name If you walk in your sleep, forget where you came Love is so much sweeter when it's borrowed I'll feel a little easier tomorrow Don't give our secret away Be careful of what you say If you talk in your sleep don't mention my name If you walk in your sleep, forget where you came Forget where you came now Don't mention my name Forget where you came __________________________________________ That has to have been written during or after Say You Will if that's about Lindsey. Sometime in that past ten years or so. There's certainly no beating around the bush in that song. Direct and to the point. Very bold for Stevie, especially considering the circumstances. Someone find out when it was written. |

Did it actually say this is a Stevie song? Could it be one of Christine's?

Iamnotafraid is our resident prankster. Rest assured there are no completed songs yet (aside from the ones Lindsey, Mick & John recorded last year, that is).

I looked through some copyright information, and there were some songs from the 80s and 90s credited to Christine and Eddie that I've never seen before.
