What wasn’t to enjoy? It’s not like Stevie was at her best during everything leading up to that era. Bekka brought energy to the shows, and she and Billy sounded amazing together. Their chemistry was every bit as pure as anything Fleetwood Mac ever had. I also really liked how Billy’s rhythm playing meshed in with Mick and John. Looking back, I’d rather they had focused on new material (which I’d be saying now if LB hadn’t gotten booted, BTW) and have gotten Mick Taylor (who I could get how he’d fit in with the band) on lead guitar. (Oh okay, I just wanted to hear Bekka and Billy rock “Gimme Shelter”, and Mick Taylor in the band would have given it credibility…)

Truth be told, I haven't agreed with Steve's stance on this new lineup, AT ALL, but I do agree with his assessment of the Time lineup. Imo, Bekka IS the greatest singer that FM ever had. She's a freaking powerhouse, with pipes to die for. I truly enjoyed the one show I saw, and it's a shame they weren't given more of a chance to flourish.

Yeah, but especially after her TITN songs, the Red Rocks & TITN concert videos, her BTM songs, her listless performances during the BTM tour, the new songs on Timespace, and Paper Doll, I was thoroughly over Stevie Nicks by 1992. The best I can say about her during that time was OSOTM had a few really good songs on it and I liked her backing vocals on that B.B. King song. The Americana thing was starting to bubble up. Put someone like Mick Taylor in on lead guitar, one of the granddaddies of the country meets blues, rock, and pop, and I think the possibilities would have been endless.

People said the same thing about Bob and Christine at one point…. However, Peter and Jeremy went away and stayed away, letting the others develop something new. Lindsey not so much. Do you think Lindsey would have ever approached Mick to play on what was GoS if OOTC had been successful, and would Mick have been responsive if the new lineup had caught on?

They’ve known each other since she was like three. Their dads were friends. There’s a picture of Dorsey and Delaney playing together. They’re cut from the same cloth. Hell, they have the same initials and the same number letters in their names, and comparable portions of vowels and consonants. Bekka once said that she was more familiar with Billy’s albums than Fleetwood Mac’s.

If not for hearing Bob’s Split Enz/Crowded House comp and, well, Mike Campbell (the Ron Jeremy of guitar porn), I probably would hate it, too.

When it was rumored that Mike was the new guitarist, I didn’t totally hate it. If it’s not going to be Lindsey, who could they have gotten that was better? I didn’t think they really needed anyone else, and really hated when it came out that there was going to be another guitarist/lead male vocalist.

However, they got someone I could totally get behind. Neil is a true artist. To put it another way, when a songwriter who has released over 100 albums thinks highly enough of another writer to make a comp of that writer, that puts Neil Finn’s worthiness into perspective. And, I have long maintained that “Don’t Dream It’s Over” was the best pop song of the 1980s.

To be sure, I’m not a fan of what happened, but I wasn’t especially shocked by it. That said, whatever happened had nothing to do with Neil or Mike, so I can’t hold it against them. And, I’m impressed that Fleetwood Mac didn’t completely embarrass themselves this time.

This isn't Crowded House, or Tom Petty's Fajita Roundup. As much as I liked the Time incarnation, once everything came back together in 97, Fleetwood Mac's legacy was cemented forever. Especially when Christine came back.

It's too late for reinvention. They're completely embarrassing themselves doing this. They're gonna look like cheap whores doing this.

I don't live in the US and haven't attended a concert of any sort in ages, so I don't know much about ticket prices , but are these prices high? How do they compare with On with the Show?

They seem high to me. I attended 4 shows (DC twice, Dallas & Atlantic City) on the last tour (2014/15), had floor tickets for 3 of them, and never paid more than $170/ticket from Ticketmaster (not including fees).

That was obviously a few years ago, so you have to account for a bit of inflation... but you also have to account for the fact that that tour was the first time the "classic" line-up was touring in nearly 20 years. That's not the case this time around, and yet prices have gone up considerably.
