Christine sounds great on Too Far Gone. And Youtubes always diminish the voice.

Think of how much MORE people like us would love this project if it had more keyboards, and more rough edges! I would much rather hear everything live than everything perfect.
You want those rough edges FM (BM) circa 1982 not now. Those processed harmonies as great as they are, are covering up the aging process.

I have to say I agree with most of this.

But the 3 shows and the 1 Q&A I attended turned me into a little boy.

I was so happy and the crowds were insanely loud and energetic.

Especially, the sold out Greek show. It was like watching the Mirage video at times when they started jamming.

Really? You approve of the karaoke?

Does this mean that you think they would be bad, I mean cringeworthy bad as opposed to some rough edges, if they performed live without backing tracks?

No that's not what I'm saying. The solution would be to get 3 good back up singers. Them on their own right now would not be good IMO. Chris is way down in the mix in everything for a reason. Sad but true.

A few days late, I know, but this was my first Buck/McVie show and I loved it. Yes, the karaoke was very obvious during some songs (as many have pointed out) but I'm forgiving of that since we've never seen a tour like this, and probably won't again. Despite what Lindsey keeps regurgitating.

The theatre was maybe 60% full unfortunately, and of that crowd, 80% of them sucked. Didn't let that stop me from having a great time though!

I've done it and it's MUCH harder to sing in front of an audience with the band playing live then in the comfort of a studio.
Well, I am a HUGE Christine fan, but I have to agree with much of this. She sounds pretty damn good routinely on "Too Far Gone" and in a few other spots, but mostly the angelic, mysterious voice of yore is pretty worn now. To be fair, she sounded rough on more than a few of the Tusk- and Mirage-era shows, too. And I have a bootleg of her singing "Oh, Daddy" from 1977 that sounds REALLY rough. So, I think it comes down to the fact that she's never been as consistent a live singer as she is a studio singer. Add to this the age, her unsteady right hand, and you have someone who WANTS to tour but doesn't have the necessary power to stand on her own without a wall of back-up players.

Still, if she came to my hometown or nearby, I'd drive there in a second.

Can she still make great music in the studio? Absolutely! I wish there'd be more focus on the records these days than the tours. I know touring is where the $ is, but do these people need more money? Just collectively hand Mick a million in lieu of 90 tour dates...

I'm hoping there is another BM album. I'm so grateful for the music we have. "Carnival Begin" alone was worth the four-year wait. Let's hope we don't have to wait again.

I'd agree with that occupancy, but the floor of the auditorium was full for the most part, except for the row in front of me. There were only 4 people in that, which was Section 101 Row D. The upper balcony's middle was fairly full, but the dress circle around the floor was meh in attendance. I'd say 70% to be generous.
