Default Fifty years ago tonight...

For anyone still counting, it's now half a century since Stevie and Lindsey joined Fleetwood Mac.

Dear Lindsey, aren't you sorry you insisted on a package deal?

...and out of those fifty years, we got less than seven years of intense activity from that line-up, a little bit of recording for Tango and a couple of reunion tours. Such a shame.

A shame to me that the last Fleetwood Mac release of new music was 11 years ago. I guess it's a miracle Extended Play was even released because Stevie refused to make a Fleetwood Mac album in 2008-2009.

But I guess 50 years ago, Stevie wanted to be where she is now at age 76, playing in front of 60,000 people...in the daylight opening for Billy Joel.

She most certainly didn't want to be a cleaning lady.

More than a couple of people, I think.

Christine's original suspicions were correct. Another woman wont work in the band.

ah, misogyny.

Coz Lindsey was SUCH a peach to work with......

Sure, he helped make hits....but his ego also took over and not always to the band's artistic benefit and certainly contributed to serious tensions in the band...

Recall facts-- the tension in the band right from the get-go was NOT between Stevie and Christine, but rather between Lindsey and John, and Lindsey bossing people around and not respecting them as the talents they are.

But sure, it was the women.

S&L joining Fleetwood Mac changed their lives. But actually it changed the lives of the rest of the band, too. And many people related to them, like Ken, Richard, John Courage, etc.
