An udder lack of decorum: The breast that bounced 'round the world
I'll start by saying that I LIKE breasts. There. I have no problem with exposed breasts. And I'll further add that if there is an exposed breast somewhere in my sight's periphery, my eyeballs are going to zero in on said breast. It's automatic.
I'll also add that Janet Jackson's Superbowl stunt was tacky. Unquestionably. Yet, I'd like to add some perspective here. CBS was inundated with phone calls and e-mails after goofball Justin exposed the pop siren's right breast. This was no accident. But why all the shock? A lot of people are claiming a high moral ground by decrying the exposure of a breast that came during the middle of what is a rather violent, often intentionally, show. Surely they are aware that it is often part of a team's winning strategy to injure certain players in the opposing team with an eye to getting them out of the game, thereby, increasing the injuring team's chances at winning. I mean, most of the game revolves around knocking down the guy in front of you, for crying out loud! Furthermore, you had commercials with horse flatulence, bestiality and old men abusing their elderly wives to get to a bag of chips. And an exposed breast is what's causing all this controversy? Something is off balance here. |

LMAO!!
Some of the commercials were funny.
I wasn't shocked by the boobie....I mean, we ALL saw 'Lil Kim's boobie on MTV. I know this was on "regular" TV as opposed to cable, but they showed Billy Campbell's butt on that show on ABC(can't remember the name right this second). Does ANYONE remember seeing the streaker? It was right after halftime, they were coming back to the game, but somebody was dancing in the middle of the field, but they only showed a faraway shot and then went straight to a coach, and never showed the streaker. LOL We were all watching and my cousin goes "Is somebody dancing on the field?" Then, we all noticed they looked naked.

I wasn't shocked...in fact, I laughed. And I agree with you 100%(marks calendar YET AGAIN ). If you're going to complain about the breast that bounced 'round' the world, then you ought to examine everything else that was on TV last night during the game AND the game itself. It goes to say, if you don't like what you see, turn it off!! You're watching a game where guys beat the crap out of one another. What do you expect? And you know what? They show more booty on NYPD Blue. I don't think it was that big of a deal...I just thought it was tasteless.
IMO, it was once again a lame publicity stunt a la Britney and Madonna. And hey Janet...Lil Kim called...she wants her schtick back. It's all been done before....

I'm so glad I didn't watch the Superbowl. I read a book instead. I sure did hear about the boob incident later on.

You've got to be kidding me! Now the FCC is saying it is going to investigate the breast exposure:
http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/ar...ent_id=2081443 "Yes, Miss Jackson, I am Derbert Dingledud, special agent, investigations, for the FCC. I am here to look into the Superbowl exposure incident. I will need to see the evidence, if you don't mind." |

I just love that it was the Timberwoman who "accidently" did it. I mean didn't Brittney's dancers almost pull her pants down last year when they were taking off the first layer of her clothing?

If you follow the sequence, as depicted in the link below, there's no way you can think it was an accident. (Warning, if you click on the link you are going to see a breast. If that offends you, do not click: )

It was quite intentional. Rather lame, IMO.
Kind of makes you think. Our people are over in another country, trying to spread American values, and this sort of thing, which is broadcast all over the world, happens. MTV, CBS, Jackson, and Timberlake don't know the meaning of good taste or decorum. I suspect that it may have been a conscious attempt to take a little of the focus off of Jacko...

See, I think that if she wanted to expose herself, she should have just walked on already bare-breasted. The exposure doesn't bother me. The fact he pulled it off is what's troubling, only because it was very clearly the depiction of an aggressive act.
Of course, the violence of that action pales in comparison to the violence that happens on the field. And did I mention the commercials? We are a tasteless culture. |

Hmmm....
Look at Timberlake's face right after he rips it off...he has this look like "What the?" But, who knows. Also, Janet does look like she looks down with a weird look.
They are good actors. LOL
