if your model ain't TOO old, you need to set it, either by burning a cd of the upgrade needed and playing it, or simply by knowing the right setting combination and set it using the remote.
here, if your dvd ain't set for a multy zone playback in advance, they just give you the instructions of how to fix it.
just browse the internet and i'm sure you'll find how to set the specific model your'e using.

Hey tommer--

I found this website http://www.dvdcodes.net and I got the codes for my DVD player. It unlocked Macrovision and the region coding.
