Maybe she originally told them no and it is them who got her to kick the can instead of taking no for answer. No means no.

so what would you want them to do? they seem to be willing to give her a few more chances, but you are saying they should just kick her out of the band?

You make it sound like rape. This in no way parallels an abusive relationship.

This is a business first and foremost. If she CHOOSES to be a member of Fleetwood Mac, she has to tour and record with them. It's her JOB that she has VOLUNTARILY CHOSEN to do, for which she gets paid handsomely. I'd like to know of ANY other job where people can refuse to do certain aspects of their job description and not be fired.

remember, Mick was talking about it after it was all over the social media (and not by some random person on twitter but by DS) that SN was in Nashville... not before she went.
Actually it was a Ledgie who went to meet Mick at some meet and greet he was doing (I forget what for) and the Ledgie asked Mick what Stevie was doing and Mick let it out of the bag that she was recording a solo album in Nashville and that "we hope"[Mick's words] that it'll be just 2 weeks or something along those lines.

I think this is what you are referring to Mick at Barnes & Noble (Stevie recording solo album)

yup!

so we all knew by that time that she was recording something in Nashville, and that prompted Hellomonster to ask Mick what exactly is it.

This raises a point. Nicks said around the time of SYW that Christine had indicated a willingness to record with the band but not tour, and that this couldn't work because "what if one of her songs is a hit"? At the time I remember thinking, "y'all could use a hit, so I wouldn't look askance at that whether McVie is touring or not!" but I got the point of it.

So if Nicks felt then that being in the band required touring, I don't see how she can feel now that being in the band doesn't also require recording. Her only out is that "albums don't sell" but heck, that hasn't stopped her from putting out solo albums, thankfully.

So I don't think this is about Nicks not wanting to record with Mac ever again, I think its all about timing: She wants to tour to support 24KG, and doing an album with Mac will kill that idea.

24 K gold will long be forgotten when they get off the road. A good album but its not going to sell these days. A new Mac album with all 5? Will sell more then ANY of them solo and that includes Stevie. Stevie has cemented her legacy with two good new solo albums in her 60's. Now it's time to cement the bands legacy that made her famous. FM cannot go out as just an oldies, cash grab act. If they had a great new album (even if it didn't sell) it would be a fitting and triumphant end to this band. But she's being selfish because she doesn't like the way her songs come out with Lindsey. Is she forgetting Gypsy, Sara, Dreams, Gold Dust woman and an F load of others? Is she basing their whole future on Say You will? Lindsey's solo work has been great lately. This new album would be fantastic and I have no doubt Lindsey would be highly motivated to make her songs great. I am bitterly disappointed at Miss Naracissanicks. BTW Lindsey had his hands full with her Tango songs...did the best he could but due to the drugs her songs were sub par.

24k will be a year old (or a little more) by then… it will have sold whatever it's going to sell by then. A tour is NOT going to make or break that album. You can argue that this current Mac tour killed her momentum on 24k but not recording a Mac album in late 2015 after they've had a short time to recuperate from the tour and then releasing that Mac album (realistically) in the first or second quarter of 2016. By then (2016) 24k will be long dead in the water and be part of her back catalog.

I'm not convinced this is all about Lindsey being producer. He's on record saying an outsider would make things easier for him, and he even mentioned Dave Stewart by name. It would be silly not to let her have her own producer if that's what she wants. I'm thinking something else is being negotiated; perhaps, as someone suggested, it's a new solo deal.

I only recently heard the demo for WTTRS for the first time, and I thought it was much better than the album version, imho.

That's what I mean. I think Nicks wanted to tour summer 2015 behind 24KG, while the band wants to go into the studio and finish the album. That's where the conflict originally was. The fact that she's been saying recently she's committed to Mac through 2015 is what makes me think she will do the album.
