Mick Fleetwood Fired! Rush Drummer Neil Peart Joins Fleetwood Mac.

Mick Fleetwood Fired! Rush Drummer Neil Peart Joins Fleetwood Mac.
There is anarchy in the Fleetwood Mac camp. Fleetwood Mac fans, still reeling from the news that guitarist, vocalist, Lindsey Buckingham was fired from the band, now get the heartbreaking news that Mick Fleetwood has fired himself from the band.

Mick Fleetwood, the unofficial leader of the band, was fired after a disagreement with himself concerning tour dates and set lists. When reached for comment, Fleetwood stated "I am not willing to say I was fired, because that is an ugly word, but I did hit an impasse with myself. I decided the band could go on without me. I then immediately rang up my old friend, Neil Peart, drummer for the band Rush. I said Pearty old chap, Fleetwood is giving me trouble, I want him out as drummer and you in."

Neil Peart was quite confused of course and thought it was a joke. "After I hung up, I scratched my head a bit, and said what in the world was that about. I called Stevie Nicks up to see what was going on and she said, the old man's mad as a hatter and get your butt down here to start rehearsals."

So it is unofficially official, that Mick Fleetwood has fired himself from Fleetwood Mac and Neil Peart is hired to replace him. This is good news for Rush fans and progressive music fans, but maybe not for Fleetwood Mac fans. "Wait, What?" said super fan Sunil Abraham.

"This will add a whole new dimension to Fleetwood Mac" said Stevie Nicks. "We are going to have a 30 minute drum solo with flaming gongs. This will take some of the pressure off of me. Seriously how long can you look at me twirling around?"

Pearts drum kit is expected to take up 75% of the stage. In addition to the drum solo, Fleetwood Mac will also add the Rush song La Villa Strangiato to the setlist. When told of the news, new members, Mike Campbell, and Neil Finn laughed and said "Just send us the checks, and they can hire Yo Yo Ma, we don't care."

Great satire!

Perhaps we can also now add Sheryl Crow to the new Fleetwood Mac lineup. Is that what this will eventually come to?

An Evening With Fleetwood Mac
Stevie Nicks - Mick Fleetwood - Christine McVie - John McVie - Mike Campbell - Sheryl Crow - Neil Finn

Hear all the classic hits you love! The Blues catalog comes to life! Plus some classic Crowded House, Sheryl Crow, and Heartbreakers tunes that you love!

What's next--Karaoke tracks?

If the end result is more money in Mi¢k's pocket then, as far as personnel changes go, "Skies the Limit".

Is is true that he was recently 'let go' from the tour as well? Or was that just a rumor?

I believe that he CHOSE to not join them, after Lindsey's firing. Mega respect to him, if that's the case.

Oh I see. Some people were saying that he was let go for apparently making it known that he was on Lindsey's side.

What's strange is that he was in the rehearsal footage shown on CBS, so it looks like he was indeed willing to work with them after Lindsey was fired. I suppose he could have spoken up after the fact, perhaps said something that made Stevie feel touring with Brett would be stressful.

And Stevie could sing Silver Springs to Jon Anderson of Yes.

One rumor I heard is that Lindsey was given a chance to go to the rehearsal in Maui, making it sound to me like they retained Mike and Neil, just to give Lindsey one more chance to tow the company line, but when he didn’t show, Mike and Neil were made members. I wonder if Neale and Brett were only there just in case Lindsey showed. I can’t see them really needing Neale now that they have two guitarists.
