Honestly I think the reason she doesn't use the rest of her voice is fear. It's easier to lean on the part of her voice she is comfortable with. She is more fearless when she is singing with a man or when someone is cheering her on and pushing her. Stevie, please don't be scared, you are the queen! You don't need those that pale in your shadow.

Just throwing this out there, that I had NOT come across this thread until now!!! Absolutely love the song. It's funny because I really haven't been listening to ANY Stevie for quite a good long while now, but decided to pull The Wild Heart off of my shelf and was going to listen to it while driving to my dad's. Then I come across this and seems to me like I may be HOPEFULLY getting ready to dive back into Stevie's music!

Sorry to bump, but I think this is one worth bumping!
This is such a lovely song, and I absolutely love what PenguinHead posted about Elton John and the Lion King. Stevie's a storyteller and a weaver of atmosphere, and I can really see her pulling off this sort of a project. Proof once again that Stevie and her voice can do anything she wants ... let's just hope she wants! Thanks so much for unearthing this! |

I love this song, too. I've used it as my perfect ending to IYD when I erased Cheaper Than Free and pretended that song never happened . Ricoh

Glad you liked the idea. The song works nicely at the end and seems more like what we'd expect as the last song on a Stevie Nicks album. Ricoh

I'm probably in the minority but I think the song is wrong for her.

I would have to agree....it reminds me if her version of "At Last"... Just a very different sound for her that doesn't really fit. http://mp3skull.com/mp3/stevie_nicks_at_last.html At Last
