The spirit of Rhiannon is turning in her proverbial grave.

Wow, tough. Silver Springs is great, but I love GDW and Gypsy. Both are so different. I love the music and vocals in both.
I see my Gypsy, but I must Rock On. |

I've been really surprised at how well Gypsy's doing. It's a great song, but I wouldn't peg it as near Stevie's best. To me, the production is a little dated--the others, I think have aged better. JMO, of course.
I went with Gold Dust Woman. It can still give me chills--such a mesmerizing song. Silver Springs is just a smidge behind. |

Well, i don't get this whole thing for Gold Dust Woman. It is indeed a good song, but it does nothing for me. And i'm almost disappointed that Rhiannon isn't there. I mean RHIANNON ! Or even Sara. Or just a Tusk song. I really had no idea Gold Dust Woman was a fans-favorite. (and i'm not impressed with those two other choices...but i went with Gypsy.).
I'm tired of Rumours.

I do love Sara though, it was just a response to all the "Dreams haters".

I had to vote for Silver Springs. All three are counted among my favorites, so I picked the one that's most fun to belt out in the shower.

I'm kinda surprised that Rhiannon didn't do better, but I knew that Gold Dust Woman was a Ledgie favorite. I'm thrilled that my favorite, "Gypsy" has made it thus far! Silver Springs - well I can see why it was left of the Rumours album - just doesn't mesh well with the others on that album. Alot of my favs didn't make it past the very first battles!

Me......well I'm beyond thrilled that Rhiannon is gone....never got the appeal of that one.

I voted for Gypsy. It's one of my top favorite songs, right under Sara.
The reason I like Gypsy so much is: 1. it's not from Rumours (tired of that album - just like someone else said) 2. It's relatable and makes me feel normal for being a gypsy at heart 3. Lindsey said it's one of Stevie's songs that he is very proud of based on how he helped her make it what it is 4. the overall way it tickles my ears and heart - love love love it! I think I put to much emotion into choices I make regarding songs and whatnot. Hummm, oh well...I can't help it. Don't blame it on me, blame it on my wild heart.

I like that you called up Rhiannon in comparison with Gold Dust Woman. I originally thought of another moon sister. But I'll go with this, I thought obvious, ranking: Rhiannon > Sisters of the Moon > Gold Dust Woman But, lo' and behold, the ancient queens are rocking on: my beloved mum recently told me that Gold Dust Woman is her favorite. I was like Still, it's an effing great song. Wow.

I did vote for Gypsy because from start to finish it is brilliant. And although I'm not a huge fan of GDW it did spawn one of the most epic lines of all time: "Rock on, ancient queen". So simple, yet so empowering

It seems that GDW and Gypsy have had the staying power as representing SN - and come to mind first when people (in general, not necessarily SN or FM fans) now think of her.
I like Silver Springs, but it is not off-the-charts-great song, imo. Gypsy - eh, not for me. I think GDW is just a really good song, and it still sounds good when FM performs it in concert. |
