Default Song Diversity

I'm listening to Come, and realizing how different it is from almost every other Fleetwood Mac song. That's one thing I love about this band - they have a handful of songs that are very different - unlike anything else, another genre entirely. It's like there is something for everyone in their discography.

So it got me thinking, it would be awesome to have a playlist featuring the diversity in Mac tunes. I mean - look how different Come, That's Alright & Songbird are all. This can/should include all eras! I'm not going to give away any other songs that I think are different, but I'd love to see some ledgies take a stab at a "Fleetwood Mac is a diverse band, yo!" playlist with a song that represents all areas of that the Mac has ever dabbed their toes in.

I'd be really interested to see what you can come up with. I'm going to take a shot at it after I'm done with finals.

My Mom always says that Nickelback & Taylor Swift songs all sound the same, but that is never something she could ever say about Fleetwood Mac, she admits. On one side of the spectrum they have their simple, easy to listen to tunes like Songbird, Landslide & Storms. These are great for mellow moods, and then they seem to have something for my rocking out moods like Rhiannon & GYOW. The romantic moods - You Make Loving Fun, Everywhere, etc, etc. It's one of the wonderful things I have always loved about this band.

How about "Rattlesnake Shake" & "Everywhere"?

Or "Stop Messin' Round" & "You & I Part 1"?

You mean something like THIS?

I'd be interested to find out how many people would know that these songs have all been released under the same artist name. (after listening to them all in a row)

Sunny Side Of Heaven
Make Me A Mask
Forever
Everybody Finds Out
Oh Well Parts 1 & 2
The Derelict
Tusk
These Strange Times
Black Magic Woman
Paper Doll
Come
One Sunny Day
Blood On The Floor
In The Back Of My Mind
Show Me A Smile

How about Sentimental Lady and Everybody Finds Out. But you could contrast EFO with 100 songs in the catalog, Songbird, Landslide, etc.

It's also funny when you have songs that are not diverse, although they come from different band eras, like Mission Bell and Oh, Diane.

Forgot about "Everybody Finds Out"...going to add that to the above playlist.

Or, just contrast the different songs they've done with identical titles:

Angel (Bob Welch & Stevie Nicks)
Coming Home (Jeremy Spencer & Bob Welch)
Caroline (Lindsey Buckingham - w/FMac, Bob Welch - solo, Danny Kirwan - solo)

What Makes You Think You're The One to me is different than anything they've done. The drum beat, piano, even the guitar is nothing like they've done before or after IMO.

Yeah, Chilli, something like that was especially what I was looking for. An epic playlist! Thanks everyone...just another great thing about this band.
