We'll I don't what criteria were going off of, but if we're JUST going off of straight how much we like the songs that were released as singles then from that batch only Heart of Stone is way better to me. And I'd add save me The if we include solo I'd say Stevie's sorcerer, for what it's worth 24 karat gold and starshine are better. But if we're referring to the single as how effective it is at making one really excited for the coming album or if it would cause a casual fan to then purchase the album then I agree 100 percent with maybe the exception being Secret Love. That song gave me a lot if confidence in how good in your dreams would be and later lived up to that.

What an absolute joy it is to hear Christine, brought just about the biggest smile to my face in years.
Love the song, this is the MAC!

It's on iTunes now. Listening to tracks 2&3 back to back. I prefer 3! They are both great!
In other words, 2 makes 3 better. This is going to be a massive album.

If you have Sleeping Around The Corner also, the music really starts to make sense in terms of the feel of the record. For all the ridiculous comments being made about the new material, for mine I think this record is going to be ****ing amazing!

Yes, I have Sleeping. And I looove it. I just don't want to mess up my listening by playing a "demo" in context of the other two final tracks but I'm sure I will do it soon anyway.

Awesome track. Youthful, positive, and plays out of my speakers like a breath of fresh air.
Two things: 1 - The track proves the genius of Christine McVie. She is simply a master of the pop song. It sounds so simple with lyrics that are far from complex. However, the melody, the harmonies, the fact that you have the song stuck in your head after one listen...genius. And I agree with another poster in terms of listening through headphones; the lush harmony, instrumentation, Lindsey's guitar mixed with Christine's rhythmic piano playing is all so beautiful and incredibly intricate. The thing about Christine's writing is that when you listen to her songs you understand that there is a lot more going on musically other than a hook; her music is "sophisticated" pop that comes from both the heart and the mind. She is one of the most intelligent pop writers of the last 50 years. 2 - Why did Stevie pass this up? As I listen to Feel About You and In My World I swear I hear Stevie's voice harmonizing with the other two...then I remember that she is not there. This album will be superb and it is a shame that it will not get the same audience, or interest, that it would had it been released as a Fleetwood Mac studio project. I respect Stevie greatly, however this is a missed opportunity for all. I respect Lindsey and Christine even more for continuing on...both of these tracks feel like time and consideration went into every millisecond; clearly this album will be the result of passion and artistry.

Vapid
I would agree with the person who said Lindsey is vapid...I think we just disagree on whether it's intentional or not

This song should get radio play. If it was released as a Fleetwood Mac track it most definitely would. If the album gets promoted as Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie (like rollingstone.com) it may just get the play it deserves. This is classic Fleetwood Mac!

Okay....I LOVE this!
I've had a rough day and this just healed me. I love when she bends her voice on the "sky at night" line. It's pop confection, pure and simple, but it works. I do wish the vocals weren't processed, especially since it's clear Christine's tone and pitch are fully intact, but I can see why the voice was mucked with to fit the pop atmosphere. |
