Uncredited Singers On Songs - Straight Dope Message Board
By Markxxx
I don't think Odia Coates was credited on Paul Anka's "I Don't Like to Sleep Alone," but she was on "One Man Woman." I don't know whether Stevie Nicks was credited on "Magnet and Steel" by Walter Egan, or John Stewart's "Gold." ...

Skateboard decks make great wall art and Girl Skateboards have just released a series of six decks with the images of female rock icons: Stevie Nicks (don't snort blow off it), Joan Jett (for your lezzie bestie), Patti Smith (hang next to your Mapplethorpe), a cig-smoking Chrissie Hynde (actually ride this one), Grace Slick giving the finger (for the bathroom) and Debbie Harry (turn it into a shelf and store your hair bleach). I want the whole six pack!

Excerpt from an interview with Sarah Buxton:

http://buxtonhughesfans.wordpress.co...inger-returns/

Buxton once met former Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks, who encouraged her to pursue music.

“One of my friends told her that I was a singer,” Buxton said. “She asked me if I was good. She told me that if I believe in myself, well then it’s that belief that will take me to the top. She said that’s how she had felt when she was my age. Her words just validated my dream and made it more tangible.”

SHOP: Stevie General Store
By RE-REWIND
This novelty vintage antique shop aptly called Stevie General Store, named after Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks who happens to be my dad's favorite, wrapped our artsy fartsy day up. As a vintage fan, our one-hour tete-a-tete with Bridget ...

Joni Mitchell had sunk into retirement and Stevie Nicks was doing her greatest hits for the tenth time on tour. And even the recent music by my old standbys was subpar. Madonna, Janet, and Mariah all released albums that struggled to ...

This is an excerpt from a Sedona Red Rock News article on writer Lu Stitts, August 3, 2010:
http://www.redrocknews.com/News/stit...newspaper.html

Like most ASU journalism students fresh out of school, Stitt applied to write for The Arizona Republic, but the newspaper never hired students without experience. Stitt did freelance for the paper covering feature stories, such as the haunted house of Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks.

Next, we have the Stevie Nicks classic, Stand Back, remade for the 21st century. This mix is by Linus Loves and is treated with much respect. A note of interest to Prince fans, he actually wrote and played the synthesizer parts in the original version of this song. This one’s sure to bring back memories for some people.

Poodle Radio, August 3, 2010

Friday, August 6, 2010
By Colin Marshall

Then (at 32:30), Indy associate arts editor and Poodle Radio music producer Aly Comingore gets in the studio to talk about her rise from UCSB’s Daily Nexus to her current position, what she likes best about the Santa Barbara music scene, her recent (and very popular) interview with Stevie Nicks, and how much local musical activity has changed for the better in the past few years. She also provides tracks, as usual, from bands and artists scheduled to play in town, including Wavves, Skyler Stonestreet, and Nicks herself. You can tune into Poodle Radio live every Tuesday morning from 8-9 a.m. on KCSB, 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara or on KCSB’s webcast at KCSB.org.

This is an excerpt from Sam Simmons' blog, The Skinny, August 7, 2010:

http://www.theskinny.co.uk/blog/6-fe...-we-doing-this

Full of deep fried food I head to the Assembly Rooms for my first show with David Quirk called The Incident. It’s a really dark, bizarre comic play about a man in a shop inappropriately touching a customer. Hilarious.

The audience is pretty full, with a heap of old people looking for a mid-afternoon laugh. They don’t laugh. Two grown men choreographing masturbation to a Stevie Nicks song is not really a Nanna’s cup of tea.

Stevie Nicks had a truly unique look along with her musical success. With a huge solo career and more famously known for working with Fleetwood Mac, her symbolic lyrics showed she was a strong female, which was few and far between in the 70′s. Her beautiful, flowing hair makes her flawless in black and white photos. Along with that, her style gave off a witchy and mystical vibe with loose and drapey dresses which had embellished lace and ruffles. And oh yeah, those clogs above are to die for. More pics after the jump!

Stevie Nicks Working On First New Album In 10 Years
Posted in: Music News
There’s no Fleetwood Mac record coming, but Stevie Nicks is working on her first album in over a decade.

She’s co-writing the album with former Eurythmics member Dave Stewart. She says it’s probably the best material she has worked on since her Bella Donna album. Nicks says it’s diverse, with ballads, rock songs, and what you would expect from her. No release date yet.
