A (very quick) scan of the charts tells me they are the only artists with 4 albums in the top 100.

FM have consistently had 2 or 3 albums in the top 100 for several months. A lot of it is down to the Rumours anniversary. However, I think quite a lot is also a bounce coming from Buckingham McVie.
I was in Target and saw the BuckVie next to the White Album.

Well, good news; Buckingham McVie has held up pretty well in this weeks chart- retaining a place in the UK top ten.

1) Royal Blood
2) Ed Sheeran
3) Nickleback
4) Rag n Bone Man
5) Lorde
6) Glen Campbell
7) London Grammar
8) Beatles
9) Fleet Foxes
10) Buckingham McVie

That's especially good considering half the top ten will be getting some bounce due to appearing at Glastonbury this week/weekend.

PS
Rumours #33
Greatest Hits #54
Very Best of #89

The fact that the album has remained in the top 10 in the UK for the second week is hugely impressive given today's market. I am very surprised. So far its chart run is as follows:

Week 1: #5 - 19,147 copies
Week 2: #10 - 10,462 copies (29,609 copies)

Therefore nearly 30,000 copies in just two weeks is seriously impressive. I can see the album going Silver (60,000) if it can remain a decent seller. Hopefully with the continuing support of BBC Radio 2, people will still buy the album.

Thanks for posting, James!!! I'm so impressed with these numbers. Who knew??

Quick update for you all. The album has plummeted to #95 for the second week on the Billboard 200 from its #17 debut last week. It was to be expected really even though it's disappointing.

HOWEVER. The album doesn't seem to be losing much momentum at all here in the UK. I still think this is due to BBC Radio 2's overwhelming support and its playing of Red Sun which is its most played track over the last two weeks.

Also, at the time of writing the album is at #30 on the iTunes albums chart which is great and shows how there are also many younger people buying the album.

I can see the album remaining in the Top 20 for week 3 when the chart is published on Friday. If it does it's extremely good news. Of course I will update when I get the info.

Great news! The album remains in the UK Top 20 for its 3rd week on the chart and it drops slightly from #10 to #17. This is very impressive and shows how the album is proving to have longevity here in the UK.

Its UK chart run and sales is as follows:

Week 1: #5 - 19,147 copies
Week 2: #10 - 10,462 copies (29,609 copies)
Week 3: #17 - 4,738 copies (34,347 copies)

I mean it's not blockbuster Rumours sales, but 35,000 people in the UK alone picked up a copy of BuckVie in just three weeks! I'd say there is definitely an interest in their music. How many new and upcoming artists would love to sell 35,000 copies of a record, let alone in just the UK?

In this day and age, that's fantastic! I'm proud of them.

If they did tour the UK later in the year I think there is a very good chance the album would climb back up the charts again. Come on BM...pleeeeeaaaaaaase

Default Chart success in Germany

Hi there,

just to let you know, that the Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie LP charted in Germany as well. It is still in the Top 100 after three weeks.

Entered the charts at 27, dropped to 46 in its second week and tumbled down to 83.

It was album of the week/month at several radio stations.

Greetings
Tobi

If they pulled out Carnival Begin at the upcoming Mac shows I bet it would pick up on the charts...

Down to #168 on the Billboard 200. Oh dear. This is because of the stupid streaming rules though. As far as sales are concerned the album is at #42 which is far more respectable.

So trying to crucify yet another person for expressing their opinions huh? Something this board has made a total career out of. The album is mediocre in a lot of peoples' opinions. And the whole excuse for saying that no one knows who they are is total BS. i'm glad you are enjoying it. You should if that is your taste. Just stop with the criticism of others for liking what they like.

didn't you leave this board in a huff and a puff, promising you will never ever bring your negativity here again?
