Of course he knew of the song- it was the centerpiece of GOS as it stood in 2000 (IMAX film notwithstanding), and it was one of the songs he deliberately held back from SYW and UTS for the more "rocking" album. He was just being an ass.

I was just trying to be polite, rather than coming right out and calling him an ass. So I take it you agree with my earlier statement about him changing the title because of the leak? Or do you have another theory?

I don't think it was because of the leak (I often wonder just how aware of the leak he is- when/how he found out, etc.) Its one of the songs that was written/recorded prior to The Dance- perhaps he felt that the phrase "waiting for the right twist of fate" was too closely related to his unhappiness prior to meeting Kristen/having the family/etc... and changed it to something phonetically similar that's more in line with his advancing age and looming end of the band? I have no idea. Its so completely/uniquely bizarre that an artist would do what he did.
