She sounded crazy. We’re used to reading between her lines. Besides, we have heard most of her anecdotes already and we can easily fill in the information gaps between her inchoate sentences, but what did it sound like to the rest of the audience? Meandering doesn’t describe it.

And death to all potheads.

She just had to get her dig in, didn't she? I was ready to be happy for her in spite of everything, but this spoiled it.

I wondered if she was a little tipsy. Maybe a little backstage celebrating going on?

No, that's just our little Stevie. She was just drunk
on her ego.

Last night when I heard her say "my band...", I thought of
making a thread here about it. But then I knew I wouldn't
need to because someone else would.

I'm embarrassed for her every time she makes a speech.

Thank God she was the first act (because you leave the best for last ), so she could go home and sleep her drunkenness. Or more like her pillness….

I don't read a lot into that particular comment (as someone already stated, people say "my church" etc), however, I agree that I don't recall any of the others referring to it as "my band." It's classic Stevie... everything revolves around her and her perspective. This particular night WAS about her (and the other inductees) and so she had the right to be giddy (though it was embarrassing for me to watch what I saw). But I won't slam her for being excited on a night like that.

(Though the fact that this was about her solo work and not FM also makes the comment all the more unnecessary and does inevitably twist the knife.)
