That's the pic I was talking about in the Rumours Forum!
Yes, I have read that he and Stevie both wear contact lenses. There are pics of both of them in Junior high and High school wearing glasses. Stevie seems to wear hers more now, such as reading at the Grammy Annoucements. Maybe Linds wears reading glasses these days, too, but we would never know, since he never goes anywhere! LOL! I wonder if they ever flew out during a concert? Haha!!

Imagine them down on their hands and knees looking for contacts!! LOL!
My Dad wears contacts and he was forever dropping them and them making us look for them! Well he couldn't look as he couldn't see a thing without them!! LOL! Pip |

The same with my mom!
She wore those hard contacts in the 70's, hers were blue, and she would drop them on the blue tile bathroom floor, and I would have to crawl around on my knees as a little kid and find them! Once I heard "crunch" right under my knee! I also used to work as an Operating Room Nurse in Atlanta - Once, one of the surgeon's contacts popped out right into the patient's open abdomen! We found it stuck to a loop of bowel. Needless to say he didn't put it back in his eye! LOL! Linds gets so "into it" during his playing I would think they might fly out. Can you see him stopping during ISA and saying "wait! I lost a contact!" He is doing some serious head-banging in some of those concerts. Maybe he doesn't even wear them on stage if his eyesight isn't that bad. He plays by feel anyway! Stevie on the other hand, I have heard is blind as a bat!

Old-fashioned contacts - ouch!
Back then there was just the hard contacts, and I bet Lindsey DID take those suckers out for concerts, because those kind fly out so easy it's not even funny! Not to mention the fact that those lights no doubt dry a man's eyes out, which dries out the contacts, and then you blink to moisten 'em up, and then - poof. Goodbye!
Nowadays contacts have progressed to the point where he probably can wear them onstage with no problem. Who knows, maybe he even got that radiokeritonomy (OK, it's not spelled right, so sue me!) to cure his eyesight permanently. I bet contacts cost a bundle back then, too. I can see Lindsey in high school: "Mom, Dad, I hate these glasses, they make me look like a nerd! I have to have contacts or my social life is over!" - this is what I told my parents at the age of 13, at least. lol But one thing does make me curious: I had to take out my contacts to swim, and I would literally run into walls if I was swimming too fast, because I was so near-sighted I couldn't gauge distance correctly. Now, granted Lindsey's eyesight was no doubt a heck of a lot better than mine, but if he needed contacts, how in the world did he see well enough to play water polo?! Quote:

LOL
SULAMITH...that comment had me cracking up! *crunch* with your knee! I think I found it so funny because it's happened to me too. I wear the hard lenses as well because my vision is so bad. The worst was when I washed it down the sink by accident, and went so berserk I ripped the piping out from under the sink to try and find the contact. Needless to say that didn't work...and I learned I'm no plumber.

I thought Stevie had the eye surgery in the early 90s to correct her vision, but she still needs reading glasses. I also thought that Stevie said she couldn't stand the thought of touching her eye so she didn't wear contacts. She would walk around and not be able to see anything.
She said that everything was a blur from the stage when she first joined FM. She would look out into the audience and not see anything but blobs of color. And in 1997 she said she could actually see faces and it was scary! LOL! P.S. Fantastic pic! What a find! Got any more???!!!! Love, Jensen and Jo
