This is what I was thinking. My dog usually sleeps with us, but gets down on the floor and sticks his head under the bed to get cool air, but every once in awhile I'll find him in the bathroom. Nice and cool

Right, but in 8 & 1/2 years, it's a first for Cash. Hopefully, it's just a new behavior.
BTW, his breathing seemed back to normal last night. Nothing labored.

^^ I understand what you mean. But hopefully it IS just that he's hot. Glad he's doing better!
