Is Fleetwod Mac #1 with you
I think for most of us, Fleetwood Mac is our favorite band considering this is a Fleetwood Mac board, but for many they just might be "A" favorite but not "The" favorite. So is Fleetwood Mac your #1 favorite band, and if not state who is.
For me there are many bands I love a lot, but none can really touch Fleetwood Mac and their solo estensions. So I answer yes they are #1 with me.

FM, totally. There are are a couple close seconds, but not really. I think the fact that they have so much variation within the band could keep me occupied for a long time.

Does it have to be a band? Fleetwood Mac is definately my favourite band.. but I love Cher just as much.. (not at the moment though, way too much into FM/Stevie...)

No it doesn't have to be a band. Band implies everything. It could be a person. The only solo artists that top any bands for me is Eric Clapton and Paul Simon.

Well...
let's just say they have been playing on my stereo systems all day long (Transferring tapes to disc. Currently transferring an early generation tape of the March 15,1980-Sydney, AU show...Next up is the 1980 Melbourne show, Great sounding "Soundboard" recordings that will now be 'lossless' recordings!) and probably will for a few more hours.

Actually The Beatles have and always will occupy the #1 place in my heart - but FM is an extremely close (if not tied - with #1) second

I go through cycles where I will be really into other bands/artists for awhile, but I always come back to FM. I don't follow tours or collect memorabilia or participate in the online fan community with anyone else the way I do with this band. They're without question my favorite, and I think they always will be, even if other artists eclipse them sometimes in terms of who I'm really excited about at the moment.
There are a few others I follow steadily (Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow...) but even they don't come close. With everyone else, it's casual fandom punctuated by short bursts of major interest, usually generated by a new album or something. Like the U2 kick I'm on now, or my renewed interest in Blondie after seeing so many of you guys talk about them here. Last edited by EnchantedSLN; 01-22-2005 at 07:52 PM.. |

I guess FM is my favorite band of all time. I guess. They're the only band that I've ever been truly completist with, and I can actually pinpoint my love of Fleetwood Mac as being the turning point from when I enjoyed music to when it became a true passion to me- and the main reason for that is actually because of the people I've met through the Ledge throughout the years who've showed me amazing stuff... whether it was Terri giving me my first copy of Patty Griffin's "Living With Ghosts" or Keith bringing me to Lucinda. I grew up on here in a lot of ways, and so I tie FM very closely with my maturation in my music tastes.
So. Yeah. I guess they're my favorite, because of where they brought me. But do I listen to FM very often? Not at all. I can count on one hand the number of times in the last few months I've probably listened to them... and even those occasions are just when a random song pops up on one of my iPod's playlists... (I think the only ones I even put anywhere are "Thrown Down," "Say You Will," "Twisted," "Spare Me a Little," and "I'll Tell You Now.") My favorite artist right now is Sam Phillips. I also love Big Star, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain, and Ron Sexsmith. |

They hit #1 with a bullet, on my favorite artists list, in 1986, and they've stayed at the "top of the charts" for the entire 19 years since.
