FM & Hawaii
I'm getting married in Maui this June and there seems to be a lot of Stevie and Mick connections to Maui. Anyone know of any locations I should check out while I'm there? A restaurant they frequent? Hotel? Which side of the island one of their beach houses may be on?
Don't worry - I won't stalk! |

Hi Laura,
Congratulations! I can't say for sure where they have a place, but I was in Maui a few years back, and I would guess that their place is near Hana. When I was there, that was the rather expensive, as well as private side of the island. The Hana-Maui hotel was something like, $385 per person for one night, and that was like 9 years ago. Either way, I hope you're renting a car because the road to Hana is absolutely beautiful. The whole island is gorgeous. You can even rent a bike and ride down Mt. Haleakala (they drive you to the top), which is something I wish I had done when I was there. Here's a good website for Maui www.maui.net, and one for the Hana-Maui hotel www.hotelhanamaui.com. Hope this helps a little, and best wishes! Em PS - I live in Cleveland, too!

Go check the Island Soap Works factory, you might find Stevie in there lol, apparently she loves the (I think) Pikkake candles from there, quite expensive but look good.
Congratulations too Laura, I think it would be such a romantic place. Tynan

Thanks everyone! Who thought this old bag would finally find a husband!?!
We are going to both Maui and Oahu for a high adventure wedding/honeymoon. Hopefully throw in a small tropical Stevie sighting. Then, when we get back we are having a reception in this huge outdoor gazebo for about 150 people. Dinner and dancing with a live band. Should be cool if the stress does't kill me before then. |

Be sure and check out Mama's Fish House http://www.mamasfishhouse.com/. Also Makena Beach, Hana, and the Seven Sacred Pools. Haleakala at sunrise is otherworldly. Congratulations!

I live on Oahu, and I never see anyone... I think they all hang out on Maui. Anyway, this was in the gossip section of our paper on 1/6/05: Carlos Santana and his family had a relaxing Maui vacation over the Christmas holidays — an annual tradition that included dinner at Pacific 'O in Lahaina. "No big fanfare, just chillin'," is the way executive chef James McDonald described the visit. McDonald also welcomed Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood to his Feast at Lele. ... Those two always seem to be on Maui in early January.....

Just don't play any Mac at the wedding or reception. EVERY wedding I've attended and/or have been a part of has ended in D-I-V-O-R-C-E. It's a bad omen.

Oooo, that's some pretty juicy information Kathy. I guess you will have to be our Hawaiian correspondant. Keeping us abreast of the FM Island news!
Steve - I gotta play something. How about "At Last" by Stevie. Is that one safe? |
