Default Mick Fleetwood #60 of 100 greatest drummers.

Mick comes in at 60...

Along with steady rhythm-section mate John McVie, Mick Fleetwood has remained a constant through his namesake band's many stylistic shifts, from the late Sixties blues-rock of Peter Green to grown-up pop of the ongoing Stevie Nicks–Lindsey Buckingham lineup. Fleetwood's rhythmic personality shines through on every cut from the band's classic best-seller Rumours: The stylish fill that introduces "Dreams" is as hooky as any chorus, and the gut-punch tom-tom counterpoint he provides to Buckingham's rhythm guitar is integral to "Go Your Own Way." Buckingham has praised Fleetwood's "instinctive" style and tells a story about the distinctive cowbell break the drummer added to the band's first single, "Oh Well." "Mick did that real off the cuff and then when he tried to repeat it, he couldn't do it! It took him a week of rehearsals to learn what he'd done in an instant." As a performer, Fleetwood's instinctive flair and childlike glee behind the kit remain intact to this day.

I agree .I see alot of overrated people ahead of him and some unknown to me names too.Just another BS RS rating.

They probably ditch John McVie in a bass ratings poll too along with Chris on the keys in a keyboardist poll..

To be fair, i think he is exactly where he should be. Mick is MY favourite drummer, but that doesn't necessarily make him better/more influential than the others higher on the list than him.

Mick isn't a very technical drummer. So guys like Neil Peart from Rush, or Kenny Aronoff(or whoever) are always going to come in above him(I didn't read the article, but I'm not surprised that he was #60...at least he made the list!).

He does play with a lot of feeling, but that doesn't equate with technique.

We FM fans owe him a lot, because the band probably would've died 45 years ago, without him.

I will say that I think he's a much better drummer than Don Henley. But then, my dead grandmother is a better drummer than him....

In his books I think Mick pretty much admits he isn't the most accomplished of drummers, though what he does, he does well.

Surprised Rick Allen from Def Leppard isn't on this list (unless I've missed him).

As much as I love The Beatles... Ringo Starr at #14?. Isn't there a quote from John Lennon somewhere about Ringo not even being the best drummer in The Beatles. Though I'm sure that wasn't entirely serious I can't see how he merits a place at 14.

Someone who is really underrated is one notch below Mick: Clem Burke of Blondie. He's fantastic.

Neil Peart should be number 1. He can do jazz, rock, swing... anything..
