So many fans taking idolization of rock stars to a very disturbing level is why I barely post on the ledge any longer.

I don't idolize any of them. Never have, never will. But it can be sporty engaging with those who do. Easily perturbed.

Ok let's translate English language for clarity:

engaging means interacting with. Not necessarily by choice, but by virtue of this forum. As in, one posts something, and then suddenly someone responds to said post with a lengthy, emotional fit.

sporty means tricky.

so let's revisit:
engaging with them can be sporty as they are easily perturbed means, "interacting with some of these fans who idolize members of the band can be tricky as they get so upset so easily".

Oy vay.
