ACTUALLY, I think that's what the band SHOULD do. Post haste. Immediately. With Christine back in the fold. By which I mean, the album really should be called "Rumours II"

I'm genuine in urging this though. Originally, Lindsey didn't want to do Rumours II cuz that's what the record company wanted. . . some rehashed, false version of "Rumours." What I'm asking for is "Rumours II", the post-modern appraisal of the Mac myth. . . with its members rejoining to tell each other what they really think of each other, the love beneath the acrimony. The first catalogued 2-8 years of rumours. . . a new one has 30 years of experience from which to glean. I'm NOT dictating the style, the just the thematic unity, the shared intent, the return to call-and-response communication that makes the whole (band/albums) greater than the sum of their considerable parts. The title, Rumours II, would not only signify this thematic unity, it would also be a smart commercial move. And what's wrong with that... if the art is still there.

oh dear. I should clarify that my quick post was in reference to the up-in-arms comments I've read about the upcoming performance of Mr. Buckingham and Ms. Underwood.

Well I didn't mean to pontificate... though it's a good idea, if I do say so myself. If I ran Hollywood. . .

Yes me too. I'm a bigger fan since he did SUD on TV-shows. That made me feel proud of him too. As I recall he was alone on Ellen, and did a great job, but on Conan he was with the touring band including Wally Reyes, who provided spectacular countering drumpatterns on the song. The whole arrangement was .... well..art on a stick. Boutique and exciting.

EDIT: NO gerald, you're wrong. At Conan he was alone too. Sh*t, where was that bandperformance from?

He brought the band with him on Ellen. He was alone on Conan.

It was called "The Dance" and came out about ten years ago...

come on read her post again Steve, The Dance was a Rumours redo, not a Rumours II like she meant it. I thought her thought was quite interesting. Impossible, but interesting.

jeeeeezus christ. i hope he NEVER EVER EVER gets invited to do ANYTHING ever again. i hate it when my favorite artist participates in events. i wish he would just stay at home where he can't be seen or heard for another 15 years.
The sky isn't falling. It just makes me take him less seriously. Billy Burnette is "generic" yet Lindsey has no problem with doing a duet with an American Idol winner on national television?

See, my new favorite artist was actually offered a contract with Warner Bros. They wanted to screw with the sound of his work. He all but told them to f*ck off and signed with another label. No, he hasn't sold millions of albums and doesn't have a huge home in Hollywood, but he has a career that he can be proud of, and still has fans like Eddie Vedder, Peter Buck, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Conan O'Brian, and Michael Imperioli (Sopranoes). He'd hang up on the person calling to suggest this, maybe even tell that person to get f*cked, which is EXACTLY what Lindsey would have done in his day.
