Wow, that was so fun to watch! While I’m not a huge Michael McDonald fan, that performance could make me one. Hawkins was great on bass, and that dance move he had going with the sax player was cool to watch- that song is so darn catchy, you could tell the whole band was really into the performance. And I’d forgotten what a great back up singer he was, too. Maybe it was the George Hawkins connection, but now I’m thinking it’s too bad MM and Christine never did a duet together. His gruff voice would have complemented Christine’s honey delivery perfectly.

I always felt that CM and MM played keyboards in similar ways.

I love his soulful and unique approach.
