Stevie played the same set as in Mohegan Sun casino two nights ago but the show was incredible! Some interesting tidbits:

The show was a little over two hours despite cutting two songs from when I saw her at MSG — which was the same length time-wise

She said they’ve been staying in NYC for two weeks and was happy to come upstate (which was some nice pandering)

Now for some of the tea:

-She also said something to the effect of, if she was 30 and strong and fit, she probably would go to war because she is so committed to the cause. I’m also amazed, given how much war and turmoil is happening she’s still sticking with Ukraine Russia and not just condemning war/violence more generally? but the Republicans in the audience of course appreciated the gesture.

-She acknowledged that a recent review made fun of her for her “Gypsy” story being 13 minutes and she promised to cut it down. Hysterically, I think it was longer? Or she was more self-conscious about it so it made less sense and took different turns?

-She also acknowledged that some piece somewhere made fun of her for using the word awesome too much.

-She also before “Landslide” dedicated the song to Christine and to Liz Rosenberg (“for all that Liz Rosenberg was to Christine and to me I dedicate this to yo”). Google says she’s a publicist? Maybe she was in attendance? Her saying the past tense makes me think she wasn’t there or she had passed but I can’t confirm that anywhere either!

All in all, however, she sounded INREDIBLE and seeing “Leather and Lace” for the first time was a highlight. I did miss “Free Fallin” as a huge TP fan and “Fall from Grace” honestly. Besides “Soldier’s Angel” and “Gypsy,” everything from the set is from four albums (I get it. That’s the fame. That’s what people come to see. But I appreciated the gems in the earlier sets from this tour). But it was a fantastic show, the band sounded tight as always, and it was great seeing Stevie from the 5th row. She genuinely looks like she enjoyed herself

Great review Mike! I'm so happy you enjoyed. It is interesting she doesn't speak about what's happening in Gaza but she may have been advised not to.

Liz Rosenberg is indeed a legendary publicist and is retired to my knowledge, and she is alive thank God! Liz also worked for Cher, Madonna, and Michael Buble I believe. Interesting that she'd have been at the Albany show but I guess that show was the location to Manhattan.

Would you say that even though she cut songs, the show was 2 hours or more because Stevie did a lot of talking?

What songs in Albany were cut from the Madison Square Garden show setlist? Sara, Fall From Grace, Free Fallin, and I Sing For The Things? Thanks Mike!

I always think of what Javier Pacheco said about him and some other members of Fritz going to her house to pick her up and her mom answered the door and asked "Why aren't you boys in Vietnam?". I think Stevie absorbed that blind support for the military industrial complex from home and it has remained with her ever since.
