For one thing, I don't think Mama is walking down too many streets- I suspect a driver is waiting outside for her at every stop. Secondly, she was obviously incognito a la Mrs. Buckingham- with the black beret and (presumably) sunglasses. She probably took the sunglasses off when she was inside trying on jewelry and the photog clearly espied her through the shop window. I think the fact that she has a ruddy complexion is nothing new. But those marionette lines are something else, perhaps magnified under the glare of harsh indoor retail lighting. I don't think it would be an awful thing if she had those lines fixed... after all, there are some VERY good examples of good plastic surgery- Demi Moore, Madonna, etc. It's not what it used to be...

Or she could just age gracefully and look like a regular 60 year old woman.

Why does society have the obsession with eternal youth and beauty?

I think the picture is very cute! But I'm sure she isn't not wearing makeup. She just isn't wearing the heavy amount she does on stage, which is normal for performers. She looks around her age, but what is wrong with that? She owns that age and lived every fabulous, and not so fabulous, year. Age is a number but once a person reaches a certain point you have to respect their wisdom and the experiences they lived through. Stevie Nicks, obviously, has many, many incredible things to share and we should focus on that, her body of work, and not the fact that she looks like a 61 year old lady in a store.

Psst: I know you all think she was apparently dressing "incognito," but imo that is just the way the lady dresses. I think she's lovely, no question, but her fashion choices just can't compare to Stevie's in any way, shape, form. SN had style and was blazin' with it, whereas KB kind of looks like she may try, um, a little too hard at times...

(That was mean but I've been thinking it for a while.)

Show me one other picture of her dressed in seemingly "incognito" attire...I would love to see it. Really.

No CA, I didn't mean she dressed in spy clothes all the time. I meant she has a very awkward sense of style. And by that I mean mostly anything she's worn on any red carpet event with Lindsey (except that black poofy dress that everyone said she looked fat and pregnant in and I think was beautiful on her). I just think she isn't good about her clothes and accessorizing and that hat, glasses, coat thing was probably her take on the style for fall- which is a lot of darker colors, hats, and round sunglasses according to this site (go back to fall months). I think Kristen, bless her heart, just did her own interp of that and, well, that outfit is what happened. I very much doubt that she could be delusional enough to wear something incognito in a European country with a husband who is an incomparable artist but not some huge crowd-drawing celeb. I'm just saying...that's her style.

Agreed - it is her style.

I doubt nothing when it comes to show biz and the like...

That's true as well, but man has she got issues if it actually is what she was doing.

Then why even bother with makeup and hair? I mean why even bother with bathing? I don't think this is a matter of society being obsessed with youth. I think it's more about looking ones best, period. Until society changes what "ones best" looks like, I guess we will favor youthfulness every time.

Yes, because "regular 60-year-old" women don't bath or wear make-up.

Well, it seems to be a lot worse than what it was. That's the problem. Women have been getting face lifts for decades, but it just seems like lately that the results have been so frightening. Maybe a traditional face lift is better than the botox. I don't know. But I can't turn on he tv today without seeing someone deformed and looking completely unlike themselves. It's better to look old than alien. You know how foreign Ann Margaret looked after her car accident? That was an anomaly for the time. Well, it seems to me that today's stars look that strange just from regular cosmetic work, not from egregious car crash surgery.

As for Stevie, yes, make up, lighting, etc. is important for the stage. But I'm glad she has the courage to go out on the street (or out in a chauffeured car) without it. Frankly, the unnecessary limitations she places upon herself in her career, the way she hates to fail or to take chances, would make me think she was the kind of person who would not set foot out in public, without full pancake and she has surprised me by not being that person. I am proud of her. One less neurosis.

Michele

Hi everyone I'll try and make this as brief as possible.
Friday Night's concert at the ME Bank Stadium, was a fanastic, an energetic night. We had brilliant seats, 5th row right in front of Lindsey. No mosh pit, so thank goodness, the security guards let was stand in the isles, towards the end. The best performances and where the crowd went crazy: "Tusk" "Gold Dust Woman" "Big Love" "Stand Back" (Great watching Lindsey sing along to that one ). They were the main stand-outs.
Just one thing, that our little group noticed, was, at the end of the first encore, Mick escorted Stevie off the stage, and at the beginning of the second encore, Lindsey was helping her back on stage again to sing "Silver Springs", this has been one of my (teary-eyed) favourite songs for years, (had to add that in ). What I trying to get at, is Stevie had none of that gutsy 'ooph' she gives to the words ..."I'll follow you down to the sound of my voice will haunt you, ...you'll never get away from sound of a woman that loves you" it just wasn't there. Maybe, because it was the last song for night, or even maybe, Stevie was whincing in pain over her back problems. I really don't know. A bit of concern, if Stevie was in pain, aye.
Anyway for me personally, Mick actually summed up the whole FM concert up, by introducing Lindsey " and the maestro - Mr Lindsey Buckingham". and he was and still is for FM.
