HMMMM

And Fleetwood Mac has to make a hit record? They can't make a GREAT record that's not a hit, with your help, Stevie?

I have been shaking my head for 40 years with Stevie and her comments on recording and everything else. I even met her in 1994 and asked her about recording and other stuff and she was so vague about everything in her responses........Whatever... I never thought I would get all these years out of her and the band so I'm cool.

Sometimes I just want her to STFU! I want to peel all those layers of pretentiousness off, hoping to get to that simplistic, yet magnificent singer songwriter from the 70s.

I don't see anything she said as wrong. There is nothing wrong with wanting to make a great record and not really care if it's a "hit" record. She's 69 years old I can't imagine being in my 60's and still worrying about whether my new album is going to be a hit or even have hits on it. She's at the point in her career where she's already had several hit albums (with FM or solo) she's probably reached that point where she doesn't care if what she does is a "hit".

the point is she seems to have a double standard--- her solo stuff doesn't have to sell if she's artistically happy with it. But when it comes to doing another FM album she declines saying that it would not sell. Why the worry about selling when it comes to the one but not the other??

AAhhhhhhhh! The great debate rages on. I have been a FM/Stevie fan since 1975. But when she kept dodging the question about going into the studio to do a new FM album after Chris came back, I started to lose some of my obsession with her. I was very frustrated. You say one thing and then say another. You want Chris back. She comes back, but you still want to just tour and rake in the money. I don't know, I just was very disappointed in the thought of maybe one last Fleetwood Mac album. Also her relationship with Lindsey drives me crazy too. You worked it out and your great friends, then you really don't like him at all. Which is it? Stick to one for crying out loud!

It's funny, having been a fan since 13, I'm 54 now, I have noticed that I am now fine with whatever direction she takes and welcome any surprises.

I agree. I'm thankful for what I get. 24KG wasn't my favorite album (not to say it wasn't great) but the tour was the best I've seen her. I will never forget Moonlight at MSG.

I'm trying to let up on her and cut her some slack. Yes, this is me.. nobody hi-jacked my login..

Her need for attention also gave her a pretty amazing career. Is she full of crap? Yes. Can she keep track of her lies? No. But yet, I still love the girl.

I hope she makes a solo album with Jimmy Iovine.

Puts on Bella Donna.......

I can understand that point of view...I wasn't thinking about her past comment about not wanting to make another FM record when I wrote that. I think there is more to it then she says regarding FM and another album. Making a solo album is a entirely different scenario because she calls the shots, with FM she has four other people who are also calling the shots in particular Lindsey who we all know is very opinionated.

It seems like post-2000, for her to feel this way ("I'm not making a hit record but a great record"), she needs to be in a creative partnership with someone she trusts who feels that way him/herself. For a while it was Dave Stewart but reportedly they had some kind of falling out. Before that it was Sheryl Crow. I hope she finds another collaborator who believes in making music for its own sake so that we get more new songs from her!

Stevie has had a falling out with every producer that she has ever slept with.
