I don' think the mentors show up until later on ..after the coaches have chosen their teams ..the first several shows are just the auditions.

This is the "retirement" phase of her career, so everything else she does at this point are just bucket list items. I love your words of reason and wisdom. I'm resisting defending her choice to be on The Voice; it's a useless en-devour. I just watched first Voice show of the season. The level of musical talent featured was astounding. The show not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's one of the best talent shows on TV.

Stevie is,by no means, "selling out" by being on the show. Her motivation for doing this isn't purely to promote herself, her solo album, or Fleetwood Mac. She's doing it because it's fun for her; she genuinely enjoys advising and sharing her experience and knowledge with the the up and coming generation. This is a great platform for her.

There is a sense of protection I gather from from some of the comments of disdain. It's as if you want preserve concept of what you expect Stevie to be, based in the past, with no consideration given to how the industry /the world has radically changed.

Gwen Stafani ended up being such a disappointment as a musical artist.

Default The Voice

When will Stevie be on the voice, has it already happened, what kind of reaction did it get?

Stevie hasn't been on yet. They are just having the blind auditions right now. Stevie is a mentor for Adam's group, so I would think it should be coming up shortly, not next week but maybe the week after.

I think she will be a good mentor.

Yes but how many kids know about her? Of course, how many kids still *buy* records either.....I've heard people in their 20s laugh off the concept of "paying for music".

The old girl? Strikes me as a bit sexist, but I've been reminded below that it may be a regional difference.

I think Stevie genuinely enjoys offering guidance to young performers. Also, these types of projects are exposing her to a whole new generation. It might annoy some fans that a teenager in 2014 only knows Stevie from American Horror Story, but that very well could be the entry point for someone who goes on to become a lifelong fan.

"The old girl" is a British slang expression. Phil is from Australia where a lot of British terms are still used frequently. Their use of that expression is not meant to be condescending, more of a term of endearment...and I can assure you that Phil is FAR from sexist. Just thought you should know.

I hope that was the intent It came across sounding like something you would say to an elderly horse that needs to be put out to pasture.

Stevie Nicks on The Voice "The Battles, Part 3" - October 20th

"THE VOICE"

"THE BATTLES, PART 3"

10/20/2014 (08:00PM - 10:00PM) (Monday) : THE BATTLES CONTINUE- THE COACHES ENLIST FELLOW MUSICIANS STEVIE NICKS, LITTLE BIG TOWN, ALICIA KEYS AND GAVIN ROSSDALE TO PREPARE THEIR ARTISTS FOR BATTLE - The "battle rounds" begin and the coaches enlist the help of the music industry's top recording artists to offer their knowledge and skills as advisers. Adam Levine teams up with Stevie Nicks, Blake Shelton with Little Big Town, Pharrell Williams with Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani with husband Gavin Rossdale. In this phase, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest, and has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach. Each coach has two steals during the battle rounds where their artists will proceed to the new knockout rounds. Carson Daly ("Last Call with Carson Daly") hosts.
