Trouble With My NEW I-POD: It's Probably Really Simple, So Hopefully You All Can Help

Alright, so I finally have an IPOD nano. I am planning on putting all of my Stevie Mac material on it.

So here is the deal. I started by taking a CD and putting it on the computer (It's An Older Dell) through the Window's Media Player. That was done successfully. I then plugged the chord into the IPOD as I should, and then plugged the other end into the Port in the computer.

On the Media Player I clicked on "Copy to CD or Device". It appeared as ifwas running and completed the job, but when I went to check my IPOD, there was nothing there.........

Then I tried putting another CD onto the IPOD and it was saying that it may not fit.....

Anyway, any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

You have to download Itunes. I do not think you an do it any other way.

You have to download iTunes and sync it to that! It's all in the instructions Ethan.
At the moment if you're copying it to the device it's just acting as a portable hard drive.

Alright, this is going to make me seem very odd.

So I uploaded my CD to iTUNES, but then when I tried to get it onto the IPOD, It was looking like I had to create a playlist with those songs to put only that onto the ipod, versus all of the songs that come with ITUNES. So it was like I had to do the whole process twice. Make any sense? So, is that correct that I have to do that, or is there a shorter way. And then, when I finally got those songs onto the thing, they didn;t show up in any catagory by artist or album, it was just a long list of songs....... Very frustrating. Help please.
