Default 150 Songs he HAS to know!

Calling all Ledgies!

In my high school chorale, or choir, we got a new student teacher. He has come up with an idea to better get to know everybody. He created a poster, where we each must put down one song that he vows to listen to. Of course, i have decided to put a Fleetwood Mac song, but i'm just not sure which!

I have considered (and he's 21, so he either may have or not have heard their classics):
  • "Sisters of The Moon" - probably my all-time favorite, and everyone i play this for is completely enchanted by the Mirage live version!
  • "Rhiannon" - ROSEBUD!!!!
  • "The Chain" - a group effort, really shows why they are one of the best bands that ever played!
  • "Silver Springs" (Live version, of course!) - what emotion! Anybody would have instant respect for people who can sing those lyrics!

so, either pick from that list or give me your suggestions and thoughts! Can't wait to hear what you have to say!

Out of your choices I would definitely pick The Chain, it's one of the only songs my friends can stand and they almost hate FM. To me, Rhiannon from Rosebud may frighten a newcomer, but given the circumstances, it may be a good option. Silver Springs is, as you said emotionally raw, and a masterpiece, my friends also like this one. Sisters Of The Moon may, like Rhiannon, give a different impression from the norm of FM's songs. However, if you were talking only Stevie, I would definitely go with SOTM

^Maybe The Dance version the studio version is magnificent as well, and radio friendly (general population that can't handle her awesomeness )

I'd say Sisters of the Moon.

I would have said Rhiannon, but how can you be certain he'll listen to Rosebud?

It's a pity there aren't any official recordings of the Unleashed Tour Oh Well because it is just miles ahead of any other version Lindsey's done of it.

Out of the songs you'd listed at the top I'd be most tempted to say The Chain, but since it's likely he might have heard it I'd maybe go for the studio SOTM as something he doesn't know and that is a bit different from the Fleetwood Mac he probably knows from the radio.

Why Rhiannon? Everyone under the sun knows that song. They play it on the radio every stinkin day. I am 20 years old and I know the majority of my friends know that song. Pick something he won't know...SOTM!

i know!!!!! I'm so upset! and if you think about it, they've professionally recorded every single tour! Why is this one any different?!?!?!?!

anyways, yes i am leaning towards SOTM and especially with "Rhiannon" recently on the Grammys, he probably knows it.

I've found that while a lot of casual music listeners know who FM is, they have limited knowledge and/or have the completely wrong idea about the band, so I always play The Ledge for newbies, to knock those preconceptions on their asses
