I love Mike Campbell, and I can't think of a better replacement.
But this is the end of Fleetwood Mac as we know it.

RIP FM.

There was no statement from Fleetwood Mac as a group about Lindsey being "fired", but simply stating that he will not be joining them on the tour.

All these gossip tabloids I feel are blowing this out of proportion.

I do believe there was an instance where Buckingham has stated that if there's no new album coming out from the group that he did not want to tour? Was there any truth to that?

Maybe what we are seeing is a possible result of that claim - seems to me that the group already had the plans made about the tour and the group chose to participate without him.

I don't see that as a firing.

What do Lindsey and Ronda Rousey have
in common? They're both trending.

This could work in our favor. Lindsey will
finally have time in his schedule to appear
on Dancing With The Stars.

Being serious for a moment. I think this
can be a positive thing for Lindsey. He'll
have time to focus on his music. And the
fire they lit under him will possibly lead to
better songs.

The new solo album...
No Fleetwood
No McVie(s)

Sounds good to me already.

The best tweet I saw was a few hours ago--wish I would have copied it. It was something like "when I die I want FM to lower me into the ground so they can let me down one last time"

There's also a petition to bring Lindsey back

TMZ:

Sources connected to the group tell us Lindsey will no longer be involved in any band activity, and will not be joining his former bandmates on the massive tour this summer. Keyboardist Christine McVie confirmed they'd be hitting the road around June.

It's unclear exactly why he's splitting from the band -- or who cut ties with who -- but we're told, for now at least, the decision is final and firm.

sounds like more than just 'not touring on this tour' to me......

As a Fleetwood Mac fan of 40 years, I am just HEARTSICK. No one has died here, so I cannot compare this to the death of John Lennon, but it certainly comes close.

I have a deep sense in the pit of my stomach that this is the END. I think whatever brought about this conflict was the final straw for all involved. I DO NOT see the Rumours lineup EVER recording or touring together again. It's a sorrowful day. This band was given an opportunity to record a final album and give its fans a proper Farewell Tour, but they chose to take the low road.

As Don McLean proclaimed, "the day the music died" is upon us. I'm just heartsick.

But the salt in the wound is the way it was done. AND Chris coming back after all these years AND an awesome BuckVie collaboration. It's like they brought us to the mountaintop then flung us into a pit.

I entirely agree. I feel the same sense of having felt a "so close yet so far" experience that is beyond frustrating.

I don't understand Christine's role in this. Or maybe I don't want to think of her going along with this Treason (cue the song). She returned to zillions of adoring fans and was received with open arms. She made a sensational record with Lindsey and now she'll go out like this??? I can't wrap my head around it

Even our small town CBS affiliate is reporting this.
WKRG if anyone's interested. I think they used the
AP version.
