Best Lindsey Buckingham Live album
If you had told me ten years ago that Lindsey Buckingham would be releasing 3 studio albums and 3 live albums over the next 10 years, I never would have believed you.
We're lucky to have such a prolific time so late in his career. Which one is the best: Bass Hall, Small Machine, or One Man Show? They all have great performances - anyone have a favorite? |

btw, we had a thread / poll for a favorite live album a while ago, but best is different than favorite so we can probably keep this thread separate... here's the link to favorite live album thread http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=51232

i'd love to see either this thread or the one with the poll continue... there seems to be a lot of new people around although mostly guests. would be interesting to hear their thoughts about the topic.

Small Machine.
The performance is more natural than Bass Hall or Soundstage. It's got the best set list. It includes loads from SWS (it's only really missing RAB to be perfect). It has a mixture of the full band and the solo acoustic stuff, providing a better arc/dynamic to the concert than OMS has. |

Small Machine. I was excited for the acoustic album.....but face palmed at the setlist. I LOVE small Machine. Great Show. Though not his best album....I loved hearing the SWS material live.

Small Machine is the one for me. I went to that show as a casual 'oh, I love Go Your Own Way', maybe this will be good show' fan, and left clutching a copy of the DVD/CD (me, stop at a merch table? Never!). How had I missed him as a solo performer all this time?
Truth be told though, I've only seen snippets from Bass Hall, and I saw the OMS live - but didn't feel compelled to buy - I still love the Small Machine DVD/CD, setlist, recording quality - love the natural voice more than the studio tracks on SWS. |

He hasn't released it (yet?).
I have some really good audience recordings of a few shows from his Out Of The Cradle tour. That's the tour he should've released a live album from to begin with. (or release it now as a retrospective)
