Default Rumours Tour Video 1977

I love this two video compilation of the behind the scenes antics of the Rumours tour.

Can anyone fill me in on who filmed this?

Is this the so-called "basement tapes" that Mick referenced in the All Access show?

I must say that Stevie looks so stoned most of the time. Kinda funny, but also kinda sad.

For those of you who have seen this, what are your favorite moments?

Its an amazing video. I have to say my favorite moments are Stevie interacting with the stage-hands and the Christine interview.

Yeah, that is quite a fun moment when Stevie is going around and hugging everyone.

I think the part right after that where she is obviously stoned and laughing is too funny. You don't get to see that side of her too often!

Doesn't it make you wish we all had this sort of incriminatoing footage of our own parents to keep them off our tails

Can someone describe the video in more detail for those of us who don't have it (or access to it)? Thanks

As far as the Stevie-hugging part...

There is a portion of these tapes where Stevie is obviously high ("I only had one--two hits" ?) and laughing, while the roadies are packing up all the equipment on the stage. She's running around in stage clothes, hugging on...everyone? And these aren't just two-second hugs, she's got her arms all over these people. Robin is there and she hugs a few people and then the camera loses her, but Stevie's just like...in a daze. I think they even try to separate her from some guy at one point ("Unhand that woman!"), but she's whispering some stuff about him coming to see her whenever.

Lots of "Hey, Stevie...good luck in your recording years!" which I thought was funny.

The Christine interview is basically a joke. She's joking about questions she gets asked all the time and her rehearsed, very short answers. (Ie: How does it feel to be a sex symbol? I don't know ask Stevie Nicks)

This video has alot of somewhat boring footage, but there is some VERY INTERESTING stuff in there too. The best part for me are both of Christine's interviews. She's pretty drunk and says some things she probably wouldn't say if she were sober. That sex symbol quote about Stevie was probably a joke, but there may have been a tiny grain of truth in there too. As someone said in an earlier post, it's all a bit sad because they were all so high at the time.

I like the part where Christine goes:"Stevie can be a pain in the neck sometimes" and she looks to the left and says:"Oh hi, Stevie". LMAO.

I love the part where the little girl found Stevie's ring and she hugs her and gives her her shawl. You can see the love she had/has for children. Too sweet!!!!

Yeah, they were pretty much out of it. When I watched it the first time I thought:"What's wrong with them?" LOL.

Oh, and the part when they come into the dressingroom and Christine throws a cup of wine(?) in Mick's face. I've seen it like 100 times and I still can't figure out what was going on. Christine was obviously mad about something. Has anyone figured out that one?

Take care ~ Debbie

Oh man...I would LOVE to see this! LOL Especially since Robin is there. That's too funny about Christine saying that about Stevie! LOL And who was the little girl--one of Mick's daughters?

PS. Slightly OT, but does anyone know how long Robin traveled with FM and for what tours, etc?

I love all the scenes y'all mentioned - and I also love when Stevie's putting on her make-up, and talking about Greta Garbo and all the classic Hollywood actresses of that era doing their makeup the same way.

Another interesting scene is w/ Lindsey, who seems to be attached at the hip the entire time w/ Carol Ann - the camera guy gets right into their faces and LB is obviously annoyed and says something along the lines of, "You're like a frustrated porn director....get outta here." LOL

It's hours' worth of film footage (transferred to videotape) of Fleetwood Mac's week in Japan at the tail end of the 1977 tour. It includes impromptu scenes of the band members at press conferences, traveling via bullet train & airplane, backstage in the dressing rooms before & after the Japan shows, & lots of just general all-around goofiness. It's also got some footage -- some of it very jumbled -- of the band onstage in Osaka & Tokyo.

Yes, everybody's basically stoned. This is the next-to-the-last week (first week in December) of a tour that lasted about 10 months, & everyone is tired & fried. It's mostly very interesting, but it is all just raw & unedited footage; it wasn't designed to be viewed all at once as a complete "show." It was probably just meant to be used for promo purposes & maybe even as a tour memento for the cast & crew. You can see little bits of it in authentic Fleetwood Mac documentaries shown over the years, like the Disney Channel "Coming Home" (or is it "Going Home"?) special.

From Japan, the band went to Hawaii for another several days, & then they were done. I'm sure they were very glad. The overriding sense you get from them throughout this footage is of exhaustion.
