Default Fleetwood Mac Extends Reunion Tour

From Billboard.online

Fleetwood Mac Extends Reunion Tour

Fleetwood Mac has added a 17-date second leg to its successful summer tour. The new round of performances, in continuing support of the recent Reprise/Warner Bros. album, "Say You Will," begins Sept. 6 in Biloxi, Miss. The band will revisit such cities as Chicago and Washington, D.C., that were played on the first leg, as well as a number of locales not yet been visited, including Toronto, Boston and Bridgeport, Conn. The tour's current leg wraps Aug. 19 in Grand Forks, N.D.

Fleetwood Mac's 2003 outing, promoted Concerts West, launched in early May, and has already become one of the more profitable tours of the past year. For the week ending Aug. 2, the group tallied four dates in the top-15 grossing concerts, according to Billboard Boxscore, and after only the first 13 performances went on sale in May, the jaunt became the 11th highest-grossing outing of the past year.

The tour features core members Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Longtime member Christine McVie is not on board for the reunion.

"Say You Will" debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 in May, and has sold 667,000 copies in the U.S. to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Here are Fleetwood Mac's new tour dates:

Sept. 6: Biloxi, Miss. (Mississippi Coast Coliseum)
Sept. 7: Atlanta (Arena @ Gwinnett Center)
Sept. 10: Greensboro, N.C. (Greensboro Coliseum)
Sept. 12: Knoxville, Tenn. (Thomspon-Boling Arena)
Sept. 13: Chicago (United Center)
Sept. 17: Detroit (Joe Louis Arena)
Sept. 20: Toronto (Air Canada Center)
Sept 21: Wantagh, N.Y. (Tommy Hilfiger @ Jones Beach)
Sept. 24: Boston (FleetCenter)
Sept. 27: Bridgeport, Conn. (Arena @ Harbor Yard)
Sept. 28: Philadelphia (Wachovia Center)
Sept. 30: New York (Madison Square Garden)
Oct. 2: Washington, D.C. (MCI Center)
Oct. 5: San Antonio (SBC Center)
Oct. 6: Houston (The New Houston Arena)
Oct. 9: Omaha, Neb. (The New Omaha Arena)

Who's sick of it being called a "Reunion Tour"?? Reunion of WHAT? They've not toured WITH Lindsey & Stevie and WITHOUT Christine before...this is a unique lineup for Fleetwood Mac, they've got a new album out, what is UP with these frigging stupid "journalists" (and I use the term VERY loosely)

I'll second that amen. Enough already with reunions. The Dance was a reunion. This is a tour.

If I'd have written a song on "Rumours"? How about "You want a what?", or "We should have had a Pre-Nup". (John McVie)

I guess we were all thinking the same thing.

I saw the subject line (knowing it came from an article), and immediately groaned to myself over yet another "reunion tour" comment in the press.

Fleetwood Mac has also been listed on Rolling Stone's website, as a choice in their "Comeback Of The Year" poll.
That one is more fitting, because they have been away for about 6 years, but it still makes me laugh when I think of all the countless times a new Fleetwood Mac project was called a "comeback."

Ah well, as long as they're getting media attention!

And thanks for posting the Billboard article, Joe.
