Female supergroup?
One of the reasons I like Christine so much is that she has the nerve to play an instrument in a rock band along with the boys. (Didn't they tell her in school that's not allowed?)
Pure fantasy here, folks. If a promoter put together a "female supergroup," who would be in it? (No male musicians allowed.) My line-up: Christine McVie on keyboards, Meg White (from White Stripes) on drums, Chrissie Hynde (from the Pretenders) on bass, Joan Jett on guitar. We wouldn't need a lead vocalist; those girls could take turns belting out tunes. But maybe we could use a second guitarist; I'm thinking maybe Charlotte Caffey (from the Go-Gos). Any more ideas?

Well, however you spell her name, she can play the sax pretty damned well.
Well, I go for the "style points" & "degree of difficulty", not so much on "technical merit".

Sadly, The Duchess has passed, but I think Lady Bo is still rocking.
And could you go past Carol Kaye on bass? |

Quote:
I think it would be interesting to see a girl group that accomplishes much more than three-chord power pop or power ballads. If they could check their egos at the door, could you imagine what Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Christine, Emmylou Harris, Rickie Lee Jones, etc. could pull off as a group? It would never happen, but my goodness. |
