Default What's your favorite obscure song from a legendary band?

I know there are some great songs that NEVER get played on the radio from great bands, and I thought I'd ask the question. Here's mine:

Cool Cat-Queen

Can't Be Seen - The Rolling Stones (Steel Wheels)
The First Stone - Paul McCartney (B-side of the "This One" single)
Fall Like Rain - Eric Clapton (Pilgrim)
Spanish Moon - Little Feat (although a standard in a Little Feat live set, never on a Little Feat album...covered by Robert Palmer with Little Feat as his backing band.)
Kind Of Bird - The Allman Brothers Band (Shades Of Two Worlds)
Rainy Day, Dream Away - Jimi Hendrix Experience (Electric Ladyland)
Things We Said Today - Dwight Yoakam (yep...a cover of the Beatles tune)
Graveyard People - Traffic (When The Eagle Flies)

Humm.. but here in Peru they play In my life on radios. Not as frequent as I would like but it's not strange for radios.

Let's see...

I never have heard STORMS or Sisters of the moon on radios, you know, from that band...

Queen: MUSTAPHA !!!!
that song really rules, I also like the Prophet song from A night at the Opera, it's joined to Love of my life in the album

Annie Lennox: Walking on broken glass

Supertramp: Fool's overture and Hide in your shell

Those aren't really obscure, are they? I hear them all the time.

"This is Where I Belong" by The Kinks is the only one that comes to mind right now. When I think of obscure, I think of stuff like non-LP b-sides. I'll have to think about this.

I was thinking that one. But I have no idea what determines a song being obscure.

dreamsunwind and Villavic: well you guys have better radio stations then I do, the last time I heard those songs on radio was when the Eagle did it's annual A to Z song list. But hey, I just defined "obscure" as songs that most don't think of at first.

Although for the Beatles I do like " Till there was You" and Norwegian Wood, Rocky Racoon and Octerpuses Garden. All a bit less known.

Oh and I just thought of one by Billy Joel: Vienna, I love that song.

Since this is a Mac Board I guess I could also list a couple songs: Save Me a Place and Straight Back are two that I never hear on the radio.

I LOVE Norwegian Wood by the Beatles!

Does Dreamboat Annie by Heart count as an obscure song? I love that one, too.

Also Unsent by Alanis Morrisette. love it.

Mine are a bit Aus-centric, which I guess makes them even more obscure:

The original 'pop' version of Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, by The Angels (known in the US as Angel City)
- better yet, to see the film clip of them on Sounds where Doc Neeson is wearing an open shirt and a big sun pendant.
Early AC/DC singles like Can I Sit Next To You Girl? or Baby Please Don't Go
- better yet, to see the film clip from Countdown of BPDG where Bon Scott is dressed as a schoolgirl.
The hard rock version of Eleanor Rigby by The Zoot
- formerly a bubblegum pop outfit given a hard rock edge by a brash young guitarist called Rick Springfield. Yes, that Rick Springfield.
The original studio version of Throw Your Arms Around Me by Hunters & Collectors, instead of the wimpy version from the Collected Works album. Yes, a plaintive love song can have a driving bass line.

Suburban Boy by Dave Warner's From The Suburbs (also one of my all time favourite band names).

Cross of Thorns - Black Sabbath (Cross Purposes)
I could name 50 Sabbath songs that would fit this bill but I'll stick to one

You Keep On Moving - Deep Purple (Come Taste the Band)

I Looked Away - Derek and the Dominos (Layla and other Assorted Love Songs)
This might not fit the bill, but of all the Clapton songs I've heard be talked about this one comes up rarely.

Temple of the King - Rainbow (Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow)

My Fathers Eyes - Eric Clapton (Pilgrim)

Lonely Days, Lonely Nights - Whitesnake (Come An' Get It)

Passion Play - Jethro Tull (Passion Play)

Is While My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beatles one of their more obscure ones? It isn't one of their most famous ones but I'd be shocked if it was obscure considering the quality and the fact that Clapton plays on it.

I think WMGGW is absolutely among their more famous tunes. The only Beatles song mentioned in this thread that I would really consider "obscure" is "It's All Too Much," from the Yellow Submarine soundtrack. Stuff like "Norwegian Wood" and "Octopus's Garden," though - who doesn't know those songs?

The Beatles are just too omnipresent for any of their music to really apply in a thread like this. At least from Rubber Soul onwards, almost everything they recorded is legendary.

Those are some good ones. (And a couple of those are obscure for good reason...)

How about "All Together Now," "Rain" or "The Inner Light"?
